Just a standard 12 volt riding mower battery should do it

  • Jurgen Giess Aug 11, 2014

Try to buy the old type 12V lead acid battery which can be easily recharged. The charger for the latest 12V calcium batteries costs about $450.00!!

I would put in the largest amp lawnmower type battery you can get

  • Jurgen Giess Aug 11, 2014

Calcium batteries produce the max amps (for modern cars) but are expensive to re-charge (see my previous comment.

  • Randy Bower Aug 11, 2014

just incase my previous reply was confusing to some,I simply meant to buy a standard lawnmower 12 volt battery with the highest amp. sense he had the 23 HP. engine for he had the most cranking power for it

Hello davidturner:

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Stator/Charging Coils are Not Charging Correctly.
For Testing the Electrical (Charging) System on Mowers you can Use this Site Addy; http://faqs.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/faqs.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3438&p_created=1101706364&p_sid=4fQ1f8Xi&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=3443&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NTEmcF9wcm9kcz0mcF9jYXRzPTAmcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0mcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1Wb2x0YWdlIGFuZCBTdGF0b3IgQ2hlY2s*&p_li=&p_topview=1 and Use the Link for AC Volts/DC Amps Meter Setting Chart. This is for Briggs Engines and Works Well for Kohler and Other Engine OEMs.

This is the deck routing diagram:

There are 3 models of the LA145. Hopefully this is the correct diagram. The deck belt routing appears to be the same on all 3 models.

Husqvarna 48' 24 hp 2008 riding mower.Engine stops when mower deck is engauged

check under the deck and see if you have something wrapped around the blades and locking them up. Make sure you can turn the blades by hand. I had this happen with some barbed wire on my mower last summer. hope this helps you

My 48'' Husqvarna riding mower deck cuts too low when set in the in the highest position.

You will have to find another way to highten the deck, different bolts, shorter springs, Or if possible, adjusting the lever
