Check you belt first. Check for a clogged hose. You can do this by putting the other hose on the exhaust of unit with the crevice tool. Blow air through the other hose to see if anything comes out. This is good to do anyway to ensure clean hoses.

SOURCE: Rainbow vacuum-water not spinning

Remove hose and turn on the unit with nothing on the intake - see if it helps - feel the suction with hand.

a) If it works fine without the hose - look for a clog in the hose, wand or the nozzle

b) If the suction is weak even without the hose:
Clean the separator,
If this is e-series or E2 Rainbow - remove HEPA and try vacuuming without it (sometimes it is too dirty so stops good airflow). New HEPAs HERE.
If this is SE Rainbow - remove exhaust cap and if there is a sponge - take it out

Still no luck - It has to be serviced

Good Luck,
Rocky

Is it possible that I'm not locking the dirt container when I put it back on why vacuum is totally getting covered with dust and dirt

The answer is simple...vacuums with filters allow air and anything finer than the size of the filter holes to pass through...if you hold a light over your bag and turn the vac on, you will see an explosion of fine dust coming from the bag...Vacs work on airflow, so the less air flowing through the bag, the less dirt you pick up...clogged bag = no airflow=no cleaning. Bagless vacs should have the filters cleaned after every use, and the canister emptied and washed. Buy a Rainbow to eliminate these problems.

Rainbow vacuum won't pick up

Attach hose with out power head to the rear of unit and turn unit on. This is a pretty effective way of eliminating anything that may be in hose. Also check belt on power head. P.S don't forget to put rear cover back on rainbow,

What happens when i run my rainbow vacuume without water ?

The Rainbow must have water as this is the only way it filters the dirt before the motor. If you don't use water, all the dirt will go through the motor and could create serious issues. We have a cleaning service that will clean your Rainbow inside and out making it like new. Call us for details.

Will not vacumn blows dirt

Hi There I would suggest you have a blockage in your head. Turn it over and remove the base plate. I suspect you will have a build up of muck and junk there. Remove it all and check your Rainbow belt while your there.

Not picking up dirt

Have you tried cleaning out under te plastic cover? Remove it as you would when you replace the belt I get stuff caught in there or just inside hard metal tube there is a small magnet that will catch things and sometimes block it up. Use hose to **** it all out and clean. I find this helpful when it doesn't want to pick up as well I know it is time to clean it up.

My kids were in charge of the Rainbow, but they moved out. My husband surprised me by cleaning a dirty rug. Neither of us know how to use the Rainbow, but I at least know that you're supposed to use water....

Your Rainbow might have been damaged. It would be advisable to take the machine to a shop and have them do a cleaning on it. The water is the filter, and there is a separator between the water and the motor. The separator only prevents the water from entering the motor. The dirt that goes in the water is no longer airbourne, so it cannot enter. Without water, the dirt is still airbourne and some of it could have entered. I am sure that most of what was picked up landed in the basin. Is the separator(the little nut on the bottom of cleaner holds this in) full of fluff? Take off the separator nut(there should be a wrench/toothbrush tucked in under the cleaner that is used to remove separator and clean it.) Is there fluff visible up in the machine? If so, definitely take it to a shop. The separator must be cleaned after every use. Never store water in the basin. Those are the 2 main rules for care and use of your Rainbow. Well, good luck with your Rainbow. They are truly great vacuums. Let me know if this helped you. Thanks Rene(the VAcuum Doctor)
