Hisense tv model number LCD42v68p is not responding to remote and menu buttons screen comes on with alphabetical letters how do i fix that

It is a Chinese set and they view upside down. Easy to fix.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.


1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

Don't use the remote control the signal it block.Go to ur manual contol on the tv right side.Push the power button to turn tv on.Push button Menu now U in the tv Menu,Use the volume + or - button move the Menu function to OPTION,now use the Channel + or - go down to the word said Operation lock out(ON) Now push manual contol button said INPUT.Now the word said Operation lock out(OFF).Now remote control is relase,u can use the remote control now.Tell me this work ok.This is how i unlock the Sharp Aquos tv.

there is 2 ways to do it first
PRESS MENU - THEN PRESS THE YELLOW TEXT BUTTON (BOTTOM RIGHT).
and you should be able to use other buttons on the remote for letters eg. tv= a, radio = b OR ANOTHER WAY IS TO
press menu go into language and press 1968 twice this should bring up a screen full of codes select the code you want to change and use the left / right buttons on your remote to change the numbers 1-9 after that it goes to letters

ok any one with the problem having a lock osd on the hisense plasma screen this is what you need to do to unlock the osd
you will need the tv remote control to hand ....
press the menu button on the side of the tv .. you will have a display message saying osd locked ......
now press the menu button again so the same message comes up again then press the number 9 on you original remote for the tv ...
job done osd now unlocked....... hope this helps
you can only unlock the osd with the tv remote there is no other way, so if you dont have one you will need to get one to do this.
