Paper jam
1, To clear the paper jam issue at the rear of the printer, perform the printer reset to resolve the issue in a simple way.
2, To reset the printer, remove the papers from the input tray while the printer is turned on. Unplug your printer's power cord from the rear of the printer.
3, Now open the cartridge access door and check if the carriage can move freely along the paper width guide. Look for the jammed paper and gently pull it out. If some paper bits are found inside the printer parts, try to remove them too.
4, You can now print a test page by pressing and holding the Cancel button along with the Resume button. The printer would have got reset, and the test print would have resulted well.
5, Even after resetting if the paper jam issue did not get resolved, better service the printer in the nearest HP retail stores.

Turn the printer off
Open the back door and
gently turn the paper roller upward until it clicks. Make sure the door is securely closed. Wait a few more minutes then turn the print back on. I hope this helps.

Our support works this way. You will receive an email notifying you that there has been a reply to your post, such as this. You read the post, enter your comments in the Comment Text Area Below and you'll get another email when there is another reply.
I will ask you to do one thing, await your response and then give you further instructions.
First of all, with the printer on, and leaving it on, open the cover to the print carriage area. Now, reach over to the right under the cover of the printer and pull the ink carriage to the center.
You will want to use a flashlight to examine the area around the carriage bar for an obstruction. Common items are pencils, pens, paper clips. Additionally, the ink cartridges themselves may not be firmly locked down in place. You may notice this when you reach under and over to grab a hold of them and drag them over to the center.
Should you be able to get this carriage over to the center, check that the cartridges are lock down and nothing is lying in their path on the far right hand side. A flashlight will help you.

Worldvet

Here's what you do. Take a look at the photo below.
Open the cover of the printer, where the ink cartridges are located. Behind the ink cartridges is the carriage, which is a box that moves side-to-side on a pair of rails. It's the thing that sprays the ink onto the paper.
You have to reach in with your hand and slide this thing to the center. Then, look to the very sides, left and right, for any bits of paper. If you look at the second picture, you can see my finger pointing to a small bit of paper that tore of and got jammed into the side. See the little crumpled bit of paper? It's preventing the carriage from sliding all the way to the right. You could have little bits on the right or left side. I had to reach in with needle-nose pliers to grab the paper bits out, but maybe your fingers are small enough.
Once the little bits of paper were out, I was back in business. Good luck!
