Gateway zx6961 will not power on

This is an indication that the video card (
that is a part of the motherboard) is having issues with heat. Almico.com has a program that will check the temperature of the machine to be sure. It is a free program.

To enter the Bios setup, try tapping F1 or F2 at boot.

Boot with a Win 7 disc, and choose Repair Your Computer. Then use Startup Repair option.


If this does not work, use the Re-install Windows option. This should install on top and not wipe out.


A free legal Windows image can be downloaded. Check the MS Product Key sticker for what version your system came with. You may have to use your key. IT MUST BE THE SAME VERSION
