I bought an xbox 360 controller with wireless reciever for my pc. It worked for a while but out of nowhere the reciever won't connect anymore. The controllers connecting light just sits there and flashes all four at once. And that's all it does for five minutes. Then shuts off. It isn't under the game controlers app on my computer and I don't know how to change that. It has new batterys in it. If anyone can solve my problem I would be very greatful.
Most likely the controller can't find the signal from your wireless receiver. There should be a white button on the front of the controller that has three wavy bars on it, press that so your controller starts searching for a signal. You should find a white button with the same three bar design on it on the wireless receiver. Press that and the controller should eventually find the receiver. You may have to deviate and try different combination (press the button on the receiver first and then the one on the controller.) Sometimes the wireless controllers are finicky about the signal.

The wireless receiver doesn't light up at all. Even after pushing the button. The one on the controller searches but never finds anything. The receiver is acting like it doesn't have any power at all, and other things get power out of the same usb port. It doesn't work in any other usb ports either.
