Hello, The Headphone input seemed to have the Electrical Smell coming from the 1/4 inch Input. I am in search for the Headphone amp for the TDK DA-5900. I am trying to avoid Purchasing a Whole new unit. I believe what I need is the Circuit board that I can reattach instead if Re-soldering the blown Transistor - Resistor or the Like. Is there anything out there that remedy this issue? Please keep me Posted. Thank you R-R

W had the same problem and I found my manual. There was a number in the manual you can contact to see if they can send you a manual. 1-800-TDK-8326. Hope this helps!

Data cds will not work with this recorder.
You must use music or digital audio cd's when recording!
SOURCE: DA-5900 won't Record
You must keep the laser head clean all the time, otherwise you will have problems. Make sure you are using blank media cds that are supported by the serial copy management system.
