Although the item shows all the information in the display that has been transferred, it does not have any volume when played back via the product. the display confirms that it is playing but no volume even though the graphic is moving up and down with the output that should be present. When plugged into laptop it plays back with volume OK.

This player is garbage. Many mp3 are just not playing. The support said my mp3 where not converted properly, but they work well in other mp3 player. The support is very bad. Never Buy an Archos Product or you will regret.
Give up mate, This MP3 player is total garbage, many MP3 just wont play and the Archos Service can\'t help. Archos does not provide an firmware update for this device, even if is poorly working. So, this product is useless as the Archos service. Don\'t buy any Archos products or you will regret.

as there will be a usb cable given along with the device, you
should just connect that to the computer. a window will open showing the
already containing songs from your touch screen mp3 player.you can just right click on the selected songs
in that window and select the delete option.the songs will be deleted.
Screen being white sounds like a bad connection on the display panel on the device unfortunately. I suggest contacting the manufacturer for a warranty repair if it is new.
When exploring the player in My Computer on the PC, before disconnecting always
go through the icon "safely remove hardware'' in the right corner on the computer's screen below.
