Yes and no,,,, it depends on how you are charging the chair, if you use 1-2 bar of power in the day and then charge it every night it will shorten the life, unless you know you will be needing a full charge for the next day, try not to charge until you have used at least 1/3 of the power so if your chair has ten bars (3 green / 4 amber / 3 red) as is the standard charge once you have used 3-4 bars.

hope that helps.

Anything other than a perfectly smooth flat surface could potentially use up a bit more battery but not enough that you would really notice. If the batteries are dropping down a lot, it may be getting time to replace them.

That question has a yes and no answer. If the carpet does not create alot of resistance then probably not. The best way to describe what I am saying is if you can roll something that has small wheels like a microwave stand across the floor with a small amount of effort then your wheelchair isnt working too hard to move across that carpeted floor. If the carpeted floor is real soft and cushioned under your feet your chair will have to work a little harder. Any time you are not rolling on a hard surface your chair will have to work a little harder than it would on the harder surface.

Is there a way to increase the speed on this chair

Yes. Change the potentiometer behind the throttle lever. It's probably 10 ohms. Try a lower resistance pot. It will run the battery down quicker though.

If i have new fully charged batteries, what is the range of the chair?

That is a hard question to answer. Your range of distance can differ due to terrain. If you are riding the chair around the mall you might get 5-7 miles. If you are riding it on a sidewalk you might get 3-5 miles. If you ride it in the grass you might get 1 mile. The best answer I can give you is that most people can go 1-3 days between charges. You also have to consider your weight. If you are 100 lbs or 350 lbs. there are always factors. Since the chair does not measure distance it would be unfair to give you a number based on distance to gauge your battery life. You need to watch the battery gauge and determine what your chair is able to do.

Chair is slowing down. Batteries are fully charged.

How old are the batteries? Even fully charged older batteries can be weaker and not give you as much power to keep the speed at what you are used to. Now a dragging bake can cause you to go slower and also drag the batteries down quicker. Try driving the chair and after awhile check each motor to see if they feel overly warm or hot If one or both feel very warm or hot then I would have the brake or brakes checked If they seen ok I would get the batteries replaced

The battery will not hold a charge for very long does this mean the batteries are bad

Bronnaf Well probably. How old are the batteries? If they are 2 years old or older yes I would say they are bad. If you have not any problems before and then I'll assume the charger has been working and still getting a full charge but the lights fall off quicker than before Yes you need new batteries. Now Did Medicare pay for your chair? If they did then they will pay most of the repair costs. You can contact a repair service and they will fix your chair then bill Medicare You would have to pay any deductible that Medicare doesn't pay. Not charging

The batteries need to be replaced. When the chair sits for a while without being charged, the batteries wear down to a point that they cannot be charged.

Power chair worked when we bought it from previous owner but has set for awhile, we pluged it in to charge the chair as it would not work, charged for lenght of time book said but still will not run

If the chair sets for several weeks the batteries will wear down to the point that they cannot be recharged. Have the batteries load tested and I bet that this will fix the problem.

Can you tell me why my 1300 vtx wears ut rear brakes so quickly? i don't ride them -they dont drag- and i really don't feel that i use them all that much

Normally, front brakes do 80% of your stopping. If the rear brakes are being use more often, then they'll wear out quicker. Seems like the back brakes wear out quicker on many motorcycles. There may be an adjustment cable to take more pressure off the back brakes. You can adjust the front brakes or check for air in the system on the fronts.

My Jazzy wheelchair shuts down often when I was riding it, I thought it was the battery problems, I replaced t he batteries, and it still do the samething to me, what can be the problem?

check the inline fuse on the pos side of the battery it is encased in shrinkwrap,if it is loose the chair will act dead and everything will test good.I had this problem on my jazzy select14,and just happen to find it out by chance. an easy way to see if it is the fuse is to take it out and see if it works, without it.anyway good luck! and happy riding!!!
