How do you get bellsouth 1010 walkie talkies to communicate with each other?

They seem to function fine, all buttons work, but the wont work together

My Bellsouth 1010 Wilkie talkies power up fine. Can blow and this transmits fine but talking does not transmit. What am I doing wrong?? I am on the same channel with both.

Please try to have the 2 receivers at least 20-30 ft apart. You may be overloading them if you are too close.

Ny bellsouth 1010 walkie talkie are locked, there is A sign of A key in the display And I cannot remove it

The key shown on the display is a "Button Lock". Press and hold the LAMP+ button until the key goes away.

Bellsouth Model 2290 volume remains low

Those units dont have a lot of adjustments in them. If cleaning the contacts as advised does not help, you could have any one of a dozen issues that cannot be repaired by you and is not worth the money to fix.
