Can 2 monitors display as one monitor? - Sharp PN-U473 Digital Signage Display 47" LCD

If the monitor is displaying the "Power Saving Mode" signal to the monitor, then the monitors internal VGA board is functioning, so you can rule out a broken monitor. However I have seen monitors blow the internal fuse to the VGA board which causes a false "SLEEP" signal. If this be the case then it will require replacement of the fuse (usually a microfuse soldered onto monitor internal board) or most likely a monitor replacement.

To test:

Option A: you can connect another monitor to the monitor output on the back of the computer and see if you get a display. If this monitor goes to sleep, then it is likely that your Video card is malfunctioning. If you get a display, then it is definately the monitor.

Option B: If you have another computer, you can attempt to connect the monitor to another computer. Also most modern laptops will be equipped with monitor output, so if you have one you can check it. If the monitor sleeps, then it is definately the monitor. If you get a display, then it is definately the computer video card.

We can further isolate the issue by connecting an external monitor to the notebook. If the display is fine with the external monitor, this clearly indicates that the issue is related to the LCD screen. Otherwise, it is due to the some other internal hardware.

You may follow these steps to connect the notebook to an external monitor.

1. Turn Off Computer.
2. Connect the monitor cable from the monitor to the monitor port on
the rear of the computer.
3. Connect the monitor to a power source and turn it on.
4. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

have you isolate the monitor very much? try to use other monitor. if other monitor shows some display then your old monitor is defective. replace a new one. but if the other monitor does not shows some display the your video card is defective. you have to purchase new video card.

NOTE: The icon positions determine how you move items from one monitor to another. For example, if you are using two monitors and you want to move items from one monitor to the other by dragging left and right, place the icons side by side. To move items between monitors by dragging up and down, place the icons one above the other. The icon positions do not have to correspond to the physical positions of the monitors. You can place the icons one above the other even though your monitors are side by side.
Change Primary Monitor

1. On the Settings tab of the Display Properties dialog box, click the monitor icon that represents the monitor you want to designate as the primary monitor.
2. Click to select the Use this device as the primary monitor check box. Note that this check box is unavailable when you select the monitor icon that is currently set as your primary monitor.

View Same Desktop in Multiple Monitors

1. On the Settings tab of the Display Properties dialog box, click the monitor icon that represents the monitor you want to use in addition to your primary monitor.
2. Click to select the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor check box. After you enable this feature, you can drag items across your screen onto alternate monitors. Or, you can resize a window to stretch it across more than one monitor.

Move Items Between Monitors

Check the refresh rate. If the refresh rate is 50 Hz/ 60Hz (depending on which country you stay), it can be affected by interference from electrical power signals like those from fluorescent lamps . Move speakers,USB modem and other magnetic devices away from the monitor.
8. Incorrect Colors - red may become dark brown, blue becomes purple.
Check your video cables and connectors for bent or broken pins and wires. Sometimes there may be a problem with your display card, which can be retuned using a software available with monitor technicians.
9. Run Antivirus to scan corrupt software files.Virus cause distorted characters and images.
10. Set your monitor/display pixels to the software requirements. some softwares require higher pixels to run or to be displayed. some media players, web applications, video games applications and photo editors/view softwares have option to view photos on low or high quality

Your display app controls that, try updating drivers/ software for graphics card on laptop.

NO Bad Capacitors on the power board i have some problem in my HCL lcd monitor, my monitor display is on but at a time the display is gone. when i swicth off and on monitor power the monitor display is on ofter 2 sec the display is gone so that is the problem.

This indicates either a problem with the monitor cable(ie shorted) or the display adapter. Try plugging the monitor into a different computer and if it works you will need to install a new display adapter in your computer. If it doewn't work on the new one either you can try a different monitor cable if yours isn't permanently connected. Hope this helps

Your Monitor has a heat sink issue. A capacitor in the monitor is at fault and when it heats it tells the monitor to turn off the display to save the display from damage....Problem Cost to repair will supercede the cost to replace it...Wal-mart 15" monitor 119bucks --17" monitor 129...same at staples office supply (Poof) problem solved.

did some thing change your refresh rates in the display section of your settings for the monitors? also have you tried to hook up another computer to see if it will display on the monitor? if nothing displays on the monitor then the monitor is faulty. if another computer (even a laptop) can display on the monitor then the video is set to high for the monitor to understand it. to reset monitor refresh with out a screen that will work you need to get into safe mode and reset the display settings to 60 hz and only 800 x 600 for starters and increase them until you cannot get a signal. if you cannot do this then a service shop will be able to assist you
