I asked before how to remove the date/time stamp from photos already taken. The answers I received which is to go into settings and turn off the date/time stamp, only works for photos that will be taken in the future. Is there any way to get them off the photos I already took?

Yes. You do it the same way you would get rid of any other unwanted element in the photos.

Once the camera stamps the date onto the photo itself, the date is as much a part of the photo as the faces or anything else in the photo.

SOURCE: Time/Date Stamp Problem

I'm sure you have done this already, but you have make sure you press the OK button after all the fields are set. Something else, make sure the batteries are new and charged.

For printing the date/time...

  1. Rotate the mode dial to A, P, SCENE, Tv, Av or M and turn on your ViviCam 8400.
  2. Press the menu button, then use "right" to select Mode 3 menu.
  3. Press "down" to select the Daet Imprint and change it to ON.
  4. Press the OK button to make this permanent.
  5. Then press the menu button again to exit the menu.
After this, all pictures will print with the date, and cannot be removed.

Hope this helps, if it does, please choose FixYa!

Date stamp

Once you've taken the picture, the date stamp is just more pixels, exactly as if you've taken a picture of a sign with the date on it. Just as a sign hides what's behind it, the date stamp covers whatever was there.

You can use a photo editing program to remove it the same way as removing any unwanted object in the picture. You can crop the picture, or use a cloning tool to try to extend the background to cover the date.

How to remove date and time stamps from photos. I know how to turn off the time function, but I want to know remove the stamps from the photos already taken.

If the photo was already taken then the date stamp is a part of the photo, exactly like any faces that may be in there. You can remove the date using photo-editing software, but whatever was behind the date is lost forever.

You're going to have to use a photo editing program like Photoshop Elements to remove the dates from the pics you already took. If the dates are near the edges of the pics, you may be able to just crop them out.Check your manual for instructions for turning off the feature for future pics.

When I print photos, it doesn't show the date on the photo. Also , when I scroll down to Date/Stamp on the menu, it is always "off". And I can't change the setting. Help

You haven't said what make/model your camera is, so it is hard to advise.

Without knowing the camera, I am guessing that you may be in the wrong mode when trying to change this setting. You won't be able to change it while reviewing pictures already taken. You can only change it for pictures to be taken subsequently. Once pictures are taken, you won't be able to add the date stamp, nor remove it if it has been stamped.

It may be that it won't allow you to set this if you haven't already set the date and time in your camera. I can't see why this setting would be shown at all if it was not possible to turn it on (i.e. if your camera did not have this feature).

I want to take the date and time off already taken pictures so I can print the pictures without the date and time showing.

For already taken photos, you would need photo editing software to remove the date/time stamp. With such software you could either crop the photo to remove it, or apply more labor intensive technques such as cloning to cover it. One good, free, and easy to use photo editing software is Irfanview (www.irfanview.com). With this software you should be able to crop already taken photos to remove the stamp.

How to delete the date from photos

Hi,

Cameras normally have a setting where you can turn the date stamp on or off. Just browse through the menu. It will be there somewhere. In he case of the photos already taken with the date stamp you will be able to remove it with the brush tool in Photoshop.

Hope this helps!

Remove date/stamp from pictures already taken

Once the stamp is on the picture it's just like any other element of the picture. You can try to remove it using a photo editing program, the same way you might remove a telephone pole growing out of someone's head, for example. There is no magic feature that will automatically recognize the pixels making up the stamp and recover what was there originally when the picture was taken.
