Most likely the small electric motor that moves the water injection pipe on to the various outlet mainifolds has stripped its plastic gears, afraid the only solution is a new soap dispsener assembly

SOURCE: lg wm1812cw front load washer

We had the same problem- for us it was because we were mixing laundry booster (Oxyclean) with liquid soap in the dispenser. It seems the water running through the tray had insufficient pressure to properly flush the tray out, so residue accumulated on the back & underside of the tray. Our water pressure is good here, and we don't use a water softener or filters that can reduce the pressure. Unfortunately it seems to just be a bad design of the soap dispenser tray.

We also had a problem with water/bleach leaking from our soap dispenser- when we used the bleach compartment in the dispenser we got leaks dripping onto the floor from behind the front cover of the washing machine. It was running down the front of the washer behind the front cover & coming out onto the floor. The repair guy said this was because the dispenser tray was pulled out too far, but the reason we were pulling the soap tray out so far was because the bleach compartment was too far back in the tray to use if we didn't. Now we just leave the drawer partially closed & pour the bleach directly into the soap compartment along with the soap.

SOURCE: LG WM2277HS - water backing up into soap dispenser

The pipe from the soap dispenser to the tub is quite large, it seems as if the water isn't getting out of the dispenser quick enough. Pull the whole dispenser out of the machine. There is a release clip at the back of the cup with the tray fully open. Clean out all soap residue and scum. Sometimes there is also a spot or setting for liquid or powder detergent. Adjust accordingly. Reassemble and try it again.

SOURCE: LG 2077 CW-has IE code issue as well as soap dispensing problems

IE is an inlet error indicating that the machine has not filled up to the correct water level within 10 minutes. Could be a bad inlet valve, low water pressure or a problem with the inlet hoses (do not use anti flood hoses with these machines, use only the included fill hoses).

It sounds like all of your problems lie with the water fill. If the dispenser compartments do not get water added to them then the soap, bleach, and/or softener will not dispense properly. Then it will still be present and may dispense on the next load instead.

It is also VERY important that you use an HE (high efficiency) detergent and the correct amount (2-3 tablespoons per load). Otherwise you could end up with oversudsing issues which can also keep the bleach from dispensing properly.

Also make sure to not use GEL bleach, GEL detergent or GEL softener as they are too heavy and will not dispense properly. If all of these recommendations do not help then there is a definite issue with the incoming water supply from the inlet valves (especially if the IE errors continue). In that case you will need a technician to check the inlet valves inside the machine.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

My Tromm washer is leaving residue on my clothes

Make sure you are using the correct soap. (Front load soap powder) Also use a bit less than suggested on the packet. If you are often using cold or low temp wash cycles, dirt and build-up in the machine will be common and come off on your clothes. Use a very hot wash at least once a month to clean it out and stop using fabric softener. It sticks to everything and any dirt in the water gets stuck on and then comes off in later wash cycles.

White streaks on dark clothes

The white streaks are of soap build up on your machine tub. You can get ried of that by putting cascade dish washing soap in your washing machine and run full cylece , with out clothes.

When washing dark colors there is a soap residue left on clothes,i have tried using very small amounts of soap as well as different brands of soap

Try using white vinegar in place of liquid fabric softener. Half a cup at the rinse cycle in a full load will do it. Trust me, the smell of the vinegar will fade quickly as it works to break down the soap.

There are two other possibilities here:

You're overloading the washer with clothes - An overfull washer has the problem of not providing proper drainage before the spin cycle starts - Soap ends up getting embedded in clothes instead of being sucked out of the drain.

Or, You're using non-HE soap in an HE washer.

Hope that helps.

Have residue on most to all clothes. i thought it was a water softner problem but that is now fixed. any ideas?

Residue is almost always soap related.
1: Soap goes in the washer first, then clothes. The other way around leaves soap on clothes.
2: switch to concentrated liquid soap. This blends better with cold water.
3: Dry soap has cardboard fillers. Cheaper soap has more fillers. Try a better soap brand.
4: The washer may have build up inside and may need to be cleaned out. (not likely as this clears up real fast)

Green whites?

This often is called "lint" but is really a "whiting" left by un-dissolved soap and can be seen at it's worst on dark colored clothes. This is made worse in a colder climate where the cold water entering the washer is much colder than normal. Things that can effect the quality of the finished washed products.
Too much soap: ( we have a test for this further down the page ) If you follow the manufactures instructions on the box, then chances are you ARE using too much soap. They like to sell you their product, I find cutting usage in 1/2 of what the box says will still wash good and also cut your chances of getting "whiting" on your clothes.
Over loading the washer: Even if the agitator is suppose to go back and forth, the clothes are not. If you can hold the lid button on your washer so you can watch the clothes wash, they should 'roll" in the basket and not go back and forth like the agitator. The clothes will go down the side of the agitator, across the bottom of the basket, up the side of the basket and across the top of the water in a rolling motion. Overloading is not just too many clothes but also too little water for the size of the load is another way of having a overloaded wash load.
Water temp is important: Use a thermometer to test the temp of the incoming water in your washer. Hot water should be close to 140 degrees F. Warm water fill should be 100 degrees F. Cold water is approx 60-80 degrees F. What happens in a cold climate location is the cold water temp drops as the outside temps drops, once the water temp gets below 60 degrees F, it can no longer dissolve the soap properly and will most definitely leave "whiting" on the clothes!! Do not use a cold wash, wash your clothes in as warm as poss.  water as they can take. If you have delicates you want to wash in cold, start washer out with warm water as you are putting in the soap and fabric softener and clothes, then switch to cold to let it finish filling up, this will give you a warmer wash but not as cold as straight cold water. I find most washes can be done in a warm wash / cold rinse just fine. If you need ( and probably will ) to adjust your warm water fill, turn on the hot water tap fully, turn off the cold water tap. Let the water start to fill on a warm wash setting. Then slowly turn on the cold tap adding the cold water to the hot water making a warm fill....use a thermometer to set water temp and leave the taps stay when you get about 100 degree F water fill. I adjust my own washer usually twice a year, one on summer time and once in the dead of winter.
Test for too much soap or soap retention: Put in a load of towels or dark clothing that has been bad for the "whiting" problem. These items are bad for holding soap and getting what is called -soap retention-
Wash the load in the warmest poss. water, DO NOT add any soap. Let the washer fill with water and wash for approx. 5 minutes, lift the lid and observe what is on the top of the water. If you see soap and bubbles on top of the water, your clothes have soap retention, this soap came out of your clothes. Let the load finish with out adding any soap and wash all clothes effected with this "whiting" residue. Once all the soap is washed out of the fabric and you start to add some to each load, use about 1/2 of what the box says. Liquid soap has less problems with "whiting" than the powder does, but I find powder soap is better at getting my own personal clothes cleaner.

Kenmore 80 series washer leaves soap residue on clothes no matter

After speaking with someone with trouble shooting experience in these matters, I now believe the problem lies NOT with the washer but with a bad batch of laundry detergent which fails to dissolve properly in the water.

Dark dirty spots on some clothing items appears on every load.

what you are seeing is suds getting back onto the clothes. make sure you are using HE type soap and not using too much of it.
if you are seeing suds inside the unit, when it is running, then it will "re-deposite" dirty soap residues back onto the clothes.
you need to run a rinse and spin cycle or even a heavy duty cycle with hot water to rinse out any soap that is left in the unit.
not a major problem, just use it differently and it will be ok.

Soap residue on clothes from washing machine

I have the same problem. Can't get soap out my clothes. I have a Sears Kenmore frontload washer. It seems to work fine but something isn't right. Repair man came few days ago & said NOT to use the brands they say "For ALL HE Washers" ALL being the key word. Only use the ones that only say HE. I changed back to Gain instead of Sam's brand, but I still can't get soap out. I really don't think its the detergent. I washed my daughters towels & had soap in clothes after complete full wash was done. I'm lost & have no idea what the problem is or how long its being going on before I noticed.
