Hi,
Your unit has an access panel, at the bottom of this panel are 2-4 screws. Remove them and the panel also, unplug the unit, with your right hand and to the right of the door, use you hand to go inside the unit toward the door latch. At the bottom of the door latch is a pull down looks like a tear drop but can only be felt. This is the door release, when you pull on this gently you should hear a click. This is the emergency door release for this unit. Good Luck

You will need a volt Volt-Ohm (VOM) reader to fix this problem.
This doesn't rquire sound technical knowledge for this but you should be good at following some instructions.
This could be the effect of a number of problems. Here's a list of things to check and details on how to do it.

  • Fuse could be bad -- Check the fuse for a break inside. If it’s bad, replace it with an identical fuse.
  • Temperature switch could be bad -- Use VOM to check the switch. Set VOM to RX1, remove leads and touch the probes to the switch's terminals. The reading should be zero or infinity. Turn the switch, and the reading should change from zero to infinity or infinity to zero. If not, the switch is bad.
  • Thermostat could be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1, take a lead off one of the two outside terminals and press the probes to the two outside terminals. There should be a reading of zero. If not, it's bad.
  • Heating coils may be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1 and remove the leads from the coil. Press the probes to the terminals. If the reading is zero, the coil is bad.
  • Timer could be bad -- Disconnect the leads from the motor. Set the VOM to RX100. Clip the probes onto the leads. If the reading is infinity, the timer motor is bad.

SOURCE: Whirlpool washine machine #AWM 3082 - door wont open

Try to unplug the unit for five minutes, then plug back in. Try to start a load, as soon as the door locks agian, hit cancel. That will sometimes let you get back in. Im not sure if this is a top loader or front loader, but there is a way (if its a front loader) to remove the bottom front kick plate, then you have to reach up the inside to the door latch assm, on the bottom of that is a small round handle, pull it straight down, and the door will unlock. If its a top loader (i.e. Cabrio, Oasis, Etc), you can open the top only by unclipping the top from the base. You can do this by putting a putty knife in between the top and cabinet, then finding the clips, pushing them in and lfting, you can get your stuff out that way.

Classixx model SMS40C02GB/25. What causes it to stop and turn on 'check water' light?

Sometimes the inlet pipe filter is restricted. Although water flows into the machine it is on a timer and if not enough water enters the machine registers that it is low. To test this start the machine and after a couple of minutes open the door. Add about a litre of water and then close the door. If the machine runs full cycle it's due to either an obstruction in the inlet filter or in the inlet matrix on the left hand side ( remove top and left side panel to see this)

The "Fdl" code is a Door Latch Lock error. Inspect the door latch for obstructions that may be preventing it from locking and doublecheck the wire harness to ensure all the connectors are intact. If the latch is defective, use the following link for advice on how to replace it:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587965-door_latch_replacement_fdl_error

Another method of replacing the latch is to remove the top panel and work form the top down behind the front panel. Due to limited space, this may not be desireable to some.

Replacement latches can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com, or repairclinic.com. Use your model number for your search criteria. These sites have great service and offer competitive pricing. Check out all three for the best savings.

I hope this information helps you. Let me know if you need further assistance.
