This is a maintenance request. Basically the internal counter has hit it's limit and now requires that the counter is reset and the ink pads are replaced or cleaned.

Ask at http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com if they do a Rescue Kit for your machine. This should include all the goodies you need to get running again. If they have no kit for machine, let me know as I may have an alternative.

SOURCE: Epson C45(Red and Green light flashing alternately)

The waste ink collector pads are getting full and this is a protection indicator.
Either get the machine serviced or it may be cheaper to replace it-[depending where you live]
There are tricks to keep the machine going- but eventually the you will get ink leaking all over the place.
Take a look at www.fixyourownprinter.com

The Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the red lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. If you want to have a go at this yourself, the service manual can be downloaded from

Red light on bosh classixx fridge freezer

sounds like compressor has failed to start and overload is triggered(red light) it could be start capacitor fault or overload itself faulty .
If both of these items ok and compressor has power to it then compressor will require replacing.when you switch of refrigeration equipement the oil in the system will drain down to the lowest point and thats normally compressor and if its filled up the suction side of compressor it will cause compressor to lock up (hydraulic)

My epson tx700 printer dispaly ink pad at end of life and printer not start

A fix from a forum:

Procedure 1 We found this procedure to work for the Stylus Photo 1270 type printer, and understand that it also works for the 870 range and even earlier models like the Stylus Color 740. The error is indicated on these printers by all four lights on the printer flashing. Even if you press the power switch on the printer, the lights continue to flash, and the printer does not turn off!
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable, for at least 20 seconds;
  3. When you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer's power switch was 'on' - switch it off and return to step 1;
  4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
  5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
  6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds (i.e. then release the button);
  7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EEPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.
Procedure 2
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
  3. Turn on the printer;
  4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
  5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
  6. Allow printer to complete it's processing, then turn off for a few seconds, and back on again for a newly working printer!
Procedure 3 - for 1290 and possibly 890 printers 1290 printer with green (power / data) and red (ink / paper feed) lights flashing alternately:
  1. Switch off printer with panel switch;
  2. Switch off printer at mains switch - leave off for 20+ seconds;
  3. Hold down roll feed and sheet feed buttons;
  4. Switch on at mains;
  5. Switch on at printer panel;
  6. Continue to hold down roll and sheet feed buttons until both green and red lights flash together in synchronisation, not alternately;
  7. Switch printer off and then, after a few seconds, on again at mains switch;
  8. When red and green lights are both flashing in synchronisation, release the roll and sheet feed buttons;
  9. Press and hold down the ROLL FEED button (the one at the extreme left) and keep it down until the machine finishes whirring, cleaning etc and the green light comes on steady;
  10. Release the roll feed button and all should be well.

Photo 1290 Changing ink cartridge

Hi there,

You may have to reset your printer, for when the green an red are flashing. Please do the following in order to reset the printer;
1-switch off printer itself
2-switch off at socket for 20 seconds
3-hold down both black buttons on front
switch on at mains
4-switch on printer itself
green and red flash together
5-now switch off at mains and leave for 3 seconds
6-while holding down both front buttons again, switch on at mains
both green and red flash together so release
7-quickly hold down the left botton, the one with the scroll icon above it.

Hold this until it resets itself, - the print head will re
charge and it will be obvious.

Restting by unpluggin rather than turning off at mains tends not to work.

This must help you as it worked for me.

Printer refusing to work, both green ON light and red INK light flashing simultaneously. Printer utility suggests ask dealer for help... but is it something silly that i can fix?

It can be fixed. download the following software.

install it and use the protection counter function and reset its value to zero. i think this will solve your problem.

Good Luck.

Red and green lights flashing, won't print or respond to commands. Problem started when cleaning heads and subsequently testing with the print pattern. Monitor says a general printing error and suggests...

The heads are clogged. Unplug the printer remove the cartridges and dump them (never use the same brand of it or the same ink),pour some cleaning fluid there and leave it to soak. If you have some empty cartridges fill them with cleaning fluid and use them.

Kyocera Ecosys FS 920

There are actually some certain meaning on the red light and green light showing different information to user. The summaries are:
1) Green On, Red Off = Printer Ready.
2) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Fast-Flashing = Printer warm up.
3) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Off = Printer off-line.
4) Green Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Processing Data.
5) Green Off, Red On = Cover Opened, Toner Empty or Developer Unit / Drum unit missing.
6) Green Off, Red Fast-Flashing = Paper Jam or waiting for jam reset.
7) Green Off, Red Slow-Flashing = Paper Empty or Paper tray is not inserted.
8) Green Off, Red Off = Printer power is off.
9) Green Very-Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Printer in sleep mode.
10) Green (any condition above), Red Slow-Flashing = Toner low or paper empty.

So what is your printer condition? Better know what is going on your printer so can solve the problem.

Epson stylus 1290 - machine locked up

You can download the repairer's manual for free from http://pcprinter.blogspot.com/2008/05/service-manual-for-epson-89012801290.html  which is where the solution below is listed (p.68).
Basically Epson want you (or, rather, a service centre which you'll have to pay!) to replace the waste ink pad every so many copies. However, you can reset the printer even without replacing anything by switching it off on the silver button, switching it on again whilst holding down the two black buttons alongside it, then releasing them all before quickly holding down just the left-hand black button for 10 seconds. You have only three seconds to do this after switching back on, whilst the green and red lights are flashing together. If you're not quick enough on the first try, switch off using the silver button and repeat the procedure!
