if dryer start but drum wont spin the you may have a motor pulley broken or a belt or idler broken. you have to open dryer to find out. some Maytags recently had problem with the motor pulleys but at factory they are making the changes to it on the new ones.

Sounds like the drum belt is broken or off the pulley of the motor

Most likely problem is a broken tub belt. Need to take off fron of dryer to investigate.

Usually if a dryer won't spin, I suggest checking the belt to make sure it isn't broke or even the motor burned out. If you post a model number for your dryer, I may be able to assist you further.

Doe the motor running ? if run w/out spinning the beltis the problem / bring sample to appliances center.
