This is for a portable dvd player correct?

have a google for http://www.google.com/products?q=7%22+lcd+tv&oe=utf-8&scoring=p
or http://tv.toptenreviews.com/portable/

This unit http://tv.toptenreviews.com/portable/haier/haier-kxt7020-reviews-404.htm has the best feature set per dollar. But you may consider getting another dvd player instead. they can be had for not much more

Unless you REALLY need digital broadcast TV( you are in the USA, right?) then someone's old ntsc lcd tv would serve you quite nicely. all you really need is the video-in function.

The only real trick will be to get a cable with the correct connectors, wired correctly.
hopefully your unit came with a cable that goes to RCA jacks for flexibility.

My coby v-zon dvd player is less than a year old & when I turn it on the picture comes on clean, then becomes distorted to where I cannot view my disc. is there any technique available to fix this...

I had a similar problem with my portable V Zon player. It would sometimes come on with the V Zon blue screen and work fine, then sometimes have no picture but have sound. I knew the DVD drive was working so I removed the back of the screen. The white cover has two small screws in the bottom and then the white cover just pops off (carefully pry it around the edges.) I traced the problem to the plug that supplies power to the screen ( a white plug with about 10 small red wires attached.) the plug itself was weak and I had to remove it from the socket, clean the connections and carefully pry it back into the socket. It is working fine now but I know where the problem lies if it starts acting up again. You may want to add some dielectric grease to the plug and socket, available at electronic supply stores and auto parts stores.

How do you connect the portable dvd player to your big screen tv?

Look on the side of the dvd player you should see a connector that says AV Out or Video Out, you will need a wire that plugs into that which depeding on the model of dvd player can be either the Red / White/ Yellow Phono Plug Leads or a Lead which has the Red / White/ Yellow Phono Plugs and at the other end what appears to be a headphone jack connector with 3 black bands on it indicating that its a 4 Pole Video output cable, then you plug the Phono Plugs into the Phono Sockets on your tv, using your Tv remote you will need to select which input you got the dvd player plugged into this will either be called
Source Or Input Or AV 1-2-3 ect.

Cant find headphone socket for rosen in-car dvd player

As far as i know, all Rosen in-car dvd players come with IR (infra-red) headphones so the sound is transmitted that way rather than using a lead from the headphones to the unit, therfore no sockets are neccessary!
Hope this helps....

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

ruettab,

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

cheers,
mark

2nd screen and car charger

the only thing u can do is replace the light sockets with factory or some type of after one that u would have to rewire yourself instead of cutting the cord to the devices

Second screen does not work

Make sure you have the both lead from the main unit to the second screen plugged in (Power and video lead - 3.5mm jack to red/white/yellow phono)

Also make sure the jack is plugged into the A/V OUT socket of the main unit and NOT the A/V IN.
