"Shadowing" effect fixed by separating the wires in back. Touching wires cause crosstalk of signals . Immediate fix.

SOURCE: image go off

I have had the same problem. I've just managed to get the monitor working again by VERY QUICKLY navigating through the monitor setup menu to the 'factory reset' option and hitting reset before the screen had a chance to blink off.

The problem I had is that the monitor suddenly goes black, but will come on for five seconds if I switch it off and on with the power button.

In that five seconds, I had to...
>Hit the menu button
>then hit the '+; button once
>then hit the menu button again
>then hit the '-' button
>then hit the menu button one last time

The above brings up the menu, scrolls up off the top of the list to the last item on the list (Factory Reset), selects Factory Reset, selects 'All settings' and resets the monitor.

I don't know if this is a permanent fix, but it just worked for me and mine has been doing this intermittently for the last week.

Give it a try, it's frustrating and will take a few tries, but it can't hurt.

Check inverter board for bad 2sc5707 drivers...could be shorted.
Also check driver transformers for over heating symptoms...they could also be shorted.

SOURCE: image go off

Hi this is the way how to examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. Power on both CPU and monitor. After they shut down on their own, you check that you can see the image on the screen by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. Like me, I can see window image using flashlight and check lamps inside. Some of them were broken and it is easily replaced. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so.

SOURCE: Dell 17inch flat screen monitor will not remain on, the screen go

If your Dell monitor still under into warranty, better to call Dell technical support and have them replace your monitor coz there is no way you can fix on it.

If the monitor is beyond with the warranty already, better to but a new one than taking it repair that will cost you much.

Thank you.

Have you tried double clicking on the bar right at the top of the screen next to the minimize, maximise, close buttons? By double clicking in this area it'll change the size/shape of the browser screen, you can then reposition the window to the top left of your screen and then click and drag the bottom right hand side of his window once the cursor turns into a double headed arrow.

I have a Dell monitor and the text is blurry and fuzzy, how do I fix this?

this is actually from dell support website.. hope it will correct your problem...

1 Ensure the correct resolution is set for the monitor. Flat panel monitors display the sharpest, clearest images when set to their optimal resolution. Sometimes games and other programs will change the resolution then fail to set it back once they are closed. This will then make the desktop look big, distorted, and grainy. Perform the following steps to adjust the resolution:
  1. Right-click an empty area of the desktop, and then click Properties. (Or, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.)

  2. In the Display Properties window, click the Settings tab.

  3. Under Screen resolution, move the slider to the desired setting. For most flat panels the optimal setting will be all the way to the right.

  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

  5. If prompted, restart the computer.
NOTE: If the resolution will not adjust to the appropriate settings, the video driver may need to be reinstalled or updated.

2 Ensure the screen is clean. Finger prints and smudges will make the screen look blurry. Clean the screen with a soft lint free cloth. If needed, dampen the cloth with warm water or use a LCD cleaning kit that can be purchased from most electronics stores.
3 Use the On Screen Display (OSD) on the monitor to select the Auto Adjust feature. Selecting this will synch the video signal and can sharpen the video image.
4 Reseat the video signal cable to ensure a secure connection.
5 Use the On Screen Display (OSD) on the monitor to select the Factory Reset feature.
6 Test the monitor on another computer or test another monitor on this computer. If available, testing different hardware will isolate if the problem stays with the computer or monitor

Image is not positioned properly on the wide flat screen

Hi... generally the image adjustment and positioning controls will be located on the monitor itself. But iam not sure about this model because i dont have one.You can try the user manualfor further adjustments. Also try changing the refresh rates..i.e keep them the highest possible. Also if your notebook uses inbuilt nvidia graphics, then you will be presented with a system tray applet something like "nvidia display control"... You can change the positioning from there as it will have a interactive GUI.[graphical user interface].
