Steve wonder The DVD player won't play 20th century Fox dvd's. Gives me a" not formatted for your region" message. I can play all other brands but no Fox video. Tested movies I have watched before on old unit and will not play. I have checked region code and it is number 1 on all dvd's. This my second player and it does the same. Any ideas. No phone answer at Pyle.

Region code 1 is for the USA. The player must be either region 1 or a multi region player to play such DVD's. Is it possible that the DVD's from Fox are from anther region placed in region one cases? It depends also where you got the DVD's from, there are a lot of counterfeit ones out there. Which to be honest will not work at all.

I couldn't find any info on this players region code, but most DVD stores carry DVDs from all regions, and many players today can play DVDs of any region. To be sure call the local DVD store that you like and ask them what region DVDs they have. Hope I helped ;]

SOURCE: I have a Pyle 15 inch home television/DVD player combo but when I try playing a movie, or watch regular tv, or anything else, my tv audio won't play. I can see the video fine but can't hear anything.

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. My Emerson Blu-Ray player will not play Blu-Ray discs from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. The 20th Century logo plays, then fades to black, then it just stops. I never have that problem with any

This is a new one on me. Does it happen on multiple discs or just one? Is the disc from the correct regional code for your player? May be a bad player, software glitch. Emerson is very low grade, throw away brand, and you always get what you pay for. Saving money can be important, but sometimes you need to spend a bit more to get a higher quality product.

I was just wondering if Magnavox Dvd/VCr combo MWR20V6 is a multi-region dvd player?

all dvd players are region free when you first buy them, they set the region themselves, after 5 dvd's have been played on them. So if you had a european dvd player and played 5 USA dvd's on it , it would lock to the USA region and you would be unable to play european dvd's on it. Exactly what a friend did many years ago when he bought a load of american dvd films from someone and played them on his brand spanking new dvd player :)

Regional codes

Steve,

You need I think a Region 5 player, or purchase region 1 or multi region disks. If I where to have you bypass this region player to make it region free you will only have 20 times with it and I might be doing some personal time in jail.

So what you can do is take your region disc and copy them and take of the region req's and burn them to a backup DVD and play them, or purchase a region free player, or puchase region 1 disc's.

I downloaded a movie on my computer. I burnt the disc and when I put it in the dvd player it says cannot play disc. I have a sony DVD Player. Any thoughts?

The exact model of DVD player matters. Not all models can play a Computer burned disc.
There are several types of DVD
A factory type DVD in DVD format
A burned movie in MPEG format
a burned disc in DivX format.
Etc.
Try burning the disc with a DVD Creator program, not just 'Burn to DVD'. It's not the same thing.

DVD MALFUNCTION

DVDs and CDs are formated with regional encoding 1-6. If your player does not support the format, it will not play the disk. You might try looking up your brand/model player online to see if it has a regional patch code which you can enter via remocon.

DVD Player will not play 20th Century FOX disks

The Panasonic is not "region restricted". This is a security safeguard by studios to keep people from region 1 from using region 3 content. Some material is released in other countries first and later in others. This keeps other regions from using the content from other parts of the world before it is relaesed by the studio there. Your Zenith is not a region free player and the Panasonic is. There is sometimes hacks on Videohelp.com for DVD players to be set to "region free" but not all DVD players are built with it. SONY is another non-hackable DVD player.
