My maytag dishwasher model MDB7749SAM stopped working about three days ago. The start/resume button flashes continuously and won't turn off. I flipped the breaker switch but nothing reset. The cancel button "drains" the machine but there is no water to drain. Not sure what to do!

These dishwashers are known to accumulate moisture in the keypad and then short. The solution that I have seen is to replace the keypad...It is possible that all of your issues with this dishwasher could point back to the keypad. After spending $$$ on the circuit boards, do you want to throw and additional $135 for a keypad? or replace the whole unit? Food for thought. Here is a link for you:

Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if it believes the door is not latched. Press and hold the NORMAL WASH-HEATED DRY button simultaneously & repeat this sequence for 5 times...this will reset the control. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Turn everything off first then turn off the power at the switch. Wait 10 minutes, then turn all power back on..the electronics should reset itself..also, verify it is draining properly... cheers

Connect ground wire to green ground connector in terminal box.
Donot use an extension cord.

More than likely you need to replace the washer control panel.

press sani and heat back and fourth then after all lights light close door and hit start then wait about 3 minutes. worked for me

we have a model mdvtt53aww1 and you can push three buttons and will light up the hi temp wash, heated dry and sanitize is there a code make it start
