Sony Ericsson K800i Swithces on and off when sim card is inserted

My sony ercisson k800 recently started to switch istself off and on. The whole time when the sim is inserted but when there is no sim card the phone remains on.

There is nothing wrong with the simcard as it is being used in another phone

Is it globe simcard???it an starter sim,pls replace another sim.if not reprogram may applied..

You may try by following instructions....
Warning: Do not enter any wrong unlock unlock codes on your Sony Ericsson K800 mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.

1 - Switch ON your Sony Ericsson K800 mobile phone without any SIM Card,
2 - Press the left arrow key/button once,
3 - Press the button * twice,
4 - Press the left arrow key/button once,
5 - The message "Personalize with MNC2" will appear,
(or you will have displayed an unlock menu, select the lock you want to unlock)
6 - Enter the Unlock Code.

If your Sony Ericsson K800 mobile phone does not have a left arrow button/key(e.g. Sony Ericsson W950i) and on a few phones(not all) that have a "JOGDIAL" you must press the "down arrow" key/button instead of the "left arrow" key/button for step 2 & 4. We mean by "Down Arrow" to direct the Jogdial down! In the Sony Ericsson W950i and some other models, the down arrow button/key would be located on the side of the phone.

My k800 just stop functioning, and it says "inactive sim"

Try changing another SIM card to test it. Place the SIM inside your phone in such a way that the SIM terminals comes into contact with the terminals present in the terminal.

1st switch on your phone without sim card and goto network settings and change the operation mode to GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 and switch off the phone and now insert the sim card and on it works

You will have to enter them manually or copy all of the contacts from your SE k800 phone memory to the simcard .

you do not need to remove the sim...when u have the sim in press [left arrow] [*] [*] [left arrow] and then select network...enter the code in and voila!

Insert correct sim card

Un-Clocked is temporary, allows free txt and calls for a few minutes.
Un-Locked from a network is what will allow you to use any sim card on your phone.
