I'm guessing you don't know for sure that it even needs fuses. They don't go out like they used to, as everything is controlled by a microprocessor(computer within your unit). I would suggest, that you, with the power plug pulled out, use an ohm meter to be sure that each fuse is shorted. If you need further assistance, or would like to inquire about a repair, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

SOURCE: Problem with Rotel RA 870

Since it is a Rotel, it is a good unit and worth fixing. At this point, you need to take it to a good repair shop and let a qualified tech look at it. There are no user serviceable parts inside and if you go poking around in there, you WILL make the problem worse. Rotels' are nice units and represent a good value in stereo gear. Take it to a reputable repair shop that repairs Rotel under warranty. If thats not available to you, then a good repair shop should be able to get you going. Good luck...Rob

SOURCE: the two 5 amp fuse inside the amplifier keeps blowing

Hi,

That must be the inrush current.
Maybe you are using the wrong fuses.
Please check if those are fast or slow types.
You need slow types.

SOURCE: My Rotel RA-935BX blows out the fuse on the power

It seems you have a short circuit in your unit. Further attempts at switching it on are not advisable as more damage will occur. Get it checked out by an electrician who can test from the plug for a short circuit.

Try interchanging the speakers. If the right channel works, you have a problem with your speaker.

Rotel ra-820 amp speaker ports dieing

You may have blown a fuse on the left channel due to speaker wires shorting or a defective speaker. If there are no fuses on the rear of the amp there are probably internal fuses. They are usually glass with a small wire running from end to end. If the fuse is blown the wire will be broken. Replace with the same value of fuse.
