I don't understand how to set my humidifier to run economically and still do it's job.

Nothings wrong, but I can't find my user guide... i'm not sure what the number that appears on the little screen on top of the unit is telling me ... the current humidity level? Also, if I press the up & down arrows , does changing it to "80" mean 80% humidity is the lowest or highest level of acceptable humidity. If I want the unit to run less do I set the number higher or lower. Also, how do I set it to shut off by itself or does it shut off only when the humidity matches the number in the window... I have it set at continuous... is that the correct setting for auto start and auto shutoff... or does that mean it never shuts off? I'm trying hard to limit my expenses while still protecting the stuff in my basement. PLEASE HELP - YOUR ANSWERS WILL BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!

SOURCE: My Westpointe dehumidifier model MDC-25AEN3

Hi, from the explanation you have made so far about the dehumidifier, it seems also to me that you have a faulty humidity sensor which you probably need to replace.
You can reach Repair Clinic on 800-269-2609 to request for the part, they are into sales of parts....

Frigidaire dehumidifier has an error code of EC and does not take in any water. The temp in the basement is a constant 68 degrees.

First, I'm not a Frigidaire tech.
* Check your warranty. Call for service.
* Contact (note Live Chat link); https://www.frigidaire.com/Owner-Center/Contact-Us/
*** following is for information only ***
* Checking basic problems; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXJrVGP_Ixs
* The humidifier will only run if the "Humidity" (water or moisture in the air) is higher than the current setting on the humidifier. If it's set to maximum dry setting then expect it to run almost 100% of the time. If it is set to a "wet" setting then expect it run only for short periods.
* Colder room temperatures will reduce the frequency of cycles as cold air will hold less moisture than warm air.
* You may note that running a AC unit in the same room as the dehumidifier will give you mixed results as both units will "fight" or work against each other. Humidifier will heat the air as it exits while the AC will cool the air. Best to not run the AC while the dehumidifier is in operation.
* Note that AC do "dehumidify" the air as it passes through. But not as effective as a dedicated dehumidifier.
* Be sure to check the tub and filter (make sure they are seated properly.)
* Contact Frigidaire or your local Appliance store for service.

Water does not fill in the Aprilaire humidifier on my furnance

It sounds like the feed has been shut off or pluged. Be sure the feed is off, remove the feed from the humidifier. open the fill valve slowly and run water into a bucket or whatever. If it does not run you found the problem, if it does then it is probably the fill solenoid valve on the humidifier.

I have the Kenmore 14 gallon whole house humdifier. The humidity level only goes up to 30 even though I have it set to 45. I changed the filters, cleaned the unit and tried unplugging but it did not make a...

My suggestion is to get an additional humidifier and run both. It sounds like it is at capacity. This was a cold winter and the additional heating put a large demand on the humidifiers.

Dear Sir , the dehumidifier is running the motor is running, but not sending out any water. I have cleaned the filter.n Any recommendations?

Is it only the fan motor running that you hear? Or is it the compressor motor and the fan motor in combination?

If it's just the fan motor, it running to circulate the air, in an effort to sense humidity in the air, above the level you have the humidifier set on. Speaking of which, you may have the level set higher than what the humidity is in the house and the unit is just maintaining it. 50 to 60% is high, as opposed to 35%, which is what most folks want to maintain in the hot, humid, summer months.

If you want to test the unit, place in the bathroom, turn a hot shower ON, turn the humidifier ON and set it for 45% or minimum if your unit does not have a LED readout screen. Do Not turn the bathroom exhaust fan ON. As you leave the bathroom, close the door and don't return for 20 minutes. When you do, turn the shower OFF and check the humidifiers water collection bucket. If you see any water, the unit is working as it should. If you don't see any water, it's time to replace that unit. I say that because, at best, the parts and labor to repair the unit would be equal to or almost equal to, the price of a new dehumidifier.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks

When my dehumidifier is on, it says there is 90 humidity. I come back an hour later, it is still running and no water in the bucket.

Hello,

If there's no water in the reservoir, first make sure that water is getting to the humidifier. The humidifier must have a good stream of water available to it. If there's water in the water line but the reservoir doesn't fill, replace the float mechanism inside the humidifier.

Take care.

Humidity reading is 16% when actual humidity is 46%

Running a dehumidifier when the ambient temperature is to low will cause freeze-ups. Also running it when the dew point of the moisture in the air is to low will cause it to freeze up when you set it to low which would be a higher number on the set point.

The hand written number on the probe casing is probably a quality control inspector number.
