I don't know the age of your Nextbook but it is possible that the battery may have one or more failed cells which could definitely prevent it from booting.
Unless you have a multimeter, it will be difficult to find whether the charger or the battery pack is at fault.
Try to insert another sd card and then try to power on the computer again. If that does not work try to reset it by removing the battery for 5 minutes and then replace it and try to power -up again with the sd card inserted.
the charge imdicator is suppose to blink when you plug the toy to the wall adaptor. if it doesnt blink then there's something wrong with either the adaptor, the adaptor port on the toy or the rechargeable power packs. now i said that the light is suppose to blink. but the frequency of the blinks shouldnt be fast. if that's the case clean the compartments and re-insert the batteries. if you are still having problems try the ff T/S:
1)remove the power packs, plug the toy to adaptor and turn it on. if it turns on that means your adaptor is working. 2)remove the adaptor and try using just the power packs. 3)try using 4aa batteries.
if the toy turns on with only one of the power sources stated above you better call vtech hotline.
Sorry to hear this vicki.. first what kind of tablet? Make and model is needed to help you. Reply to post if u need help with what u have such as OS Memory etc. Chad man
Try using a paperclip to reset it on the back, hold it in for 5 seconds, if that doesnt work: Turn the tablet all the way off, press and hold the VOL - and power at the same time for 8 to 9 seconds, it will show a green android guy with a system recovery menu. Use vol - to go down to Wipe Data/Factory Reset, press the power button to select it, go down to 'yes' to confirm, press the power button to select it, it will wipe the tablet, you then press the power button on 'reboot system'.
Make sure the device is charged. The Kindle does not use a lot of power, I need to charge mine every three weeks only, but it eventually depletes. The power LED should turn from orange to green when fully charged.
If the Kindle still does not switch on using the slide-and-hold, it most likely is defect and is in need of a repair.
Only one other thing comes to mind: the Kindle 3 (6" display, black case) uses a patented sliding lock to hook into protective covers sold by Amazon. This innocent looking hooks are in fact quite nifty, they also act as power connectors to external lighting build into more expensive protection covers. The first series of non-lighted covers from Amazon has been reported to interfere with electrical internals of the Kindles. For later covers, this flaw was fixed. If you feel you suffer from this problem, contact Amazon support by calling one of these numbers: Inside the United States: 1-866-321-8851, Outside the United States: 1-206-266-0927. They are usually quite forthcoming in helping customers.
have you had any power surges lately?
Try taking the battery out of the laptop and starting just on power.
if this doesnt help then take battery and power and leave laptop for few hours then try again on only power or battery.
