There should be a minimum of 50mm verge overhang on the gables, more if the roof is open to exposure, and the same 50mm into the gutter

I have narrow bullnose guttering on sides of metal roof. there are no down pipes attached. Water is leaking into bedroom and dripping down wall when it rains.

I strongly advise you call a contractor listed on Home Advisor Pro com. You will get several options for screened roofing contractors looking of work like yours. Your situation needs an experienced eye to visually inspect and determine the source/cause of the leak. There is no obligation or cost to you for using that service. The contractors pay for leads like yours.
