You can not block unknown numbers, however there is a block list for numbers that bother you! Settings>Phone>Blocked

If you want to block a number from calling you that has called you previously, go to Phone -> Recents -> find the number you want to block and click on the little (i) symbol -> scroll to the bottom and choose Block this Caller. Alternatively go to Settings -> Phone -> Blocked and then Add New...

Sorry but you cannot block a number yourself, your carrier has to do it for you.... Iphones do not have the feature to block numbers.

Most carriers offer this service. I know that verizon lets you set the numbers yourself through my verizon, but a quick log on to your online account should present the option to set blocked numbers.

You can block any number on your iPhone by just installing an app called "iBlacklist"
There you have many options, and with them there's an option of blocking a cellphone number.
You go to Blacklists - General BL. There you have '+' in upper right corner. From there you can add the number you want from contacts, recent calls and messages or write it yourself.

Can no be done. Iphone doesn't have a 'black list' for phone numbers
