Why did the TV remote input stop working?

TV remote input stopped working. I have had this TV for almost 16 months. Everything worked fine, until recently the remote stopped working. I changed the batteries, but that did not solve the problem. The universal remote which worked with the TV no longer works with it either, so I know do not think the issue is the Westinghouse remote. I assume it is the signal receiver. What can I do?

I have the same problem. The remote stopped working, as well as the universal sat remote I used.  So I know it is not the remote, but the TV signal receiver.

It just stopped with no indication of failure.

i have the same problem with my new westinghouse 32" tv. remote and universal just stopped working. have a duplicate older tv elsewhere in the house and the remote works fine with it so it is not a remote problem. How do I get the remote working again on the newer tv?

My remote control stops working every few months or so, then starts working again. My warranty goes out this month. Just have a service call and the tech left me another remote, but I'm afraid this will...

The remote interface of the TV died on mine, it was intermittent then it stopped completely. Remote control is fine, it's the remote sensor in the TV itself.

Direct TV remote "tv input" button won't work with my Sony TV

I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.

Denon avr-1907 sound from TV stopped working

Help with hooking PS3 to a Denon Receiver. It worked before, but I had to move everything to a different location and when I hooked it back up the PS3 has sound but no picture. I have it hooked directly to the receiver with and HDMI cable (the receiver is hooked up to our cable box which is directly hooked to the tv via HDMI cable).

Hey. I paid the $20 for the expert advice and (I feel such a fool) I just had to unplug the tv and plug it in again for everything to work!

Remote problems

Take the remote to your local Radio Shack and have it tested.. They used to carry IR cards and now have a pen-like tester that can tell if the remote is operating properly. Then, if you're sure the code is correct, you probably will have to have the IR detector in the Tv replaced...

Using a Jensen remote, can't access input mode

turn on your tv, press and hold tv button, then the on/off button, it will light up then press the power button.and it turns off....hold. After holding down both for buttons for 3 secs the light on the on/off key turns back on. Release both keys and the light should stay on. Now hit the On/off button repeatedly until the tv turns off, when it does hit the stop button to save code.
