Phone is hot,battery runs down
Time to replace battery. Also if you have purchased a battery from any source except from the place where you purchased the phone, chances are it is not an OEM battery. Non-OEM batteries work but they get hot and sometimes you will get an error message indicating that the battery is a NON OEM battery and not supported

The service provider does have access to the unlock codes for the phones. There are companies and programs that you can get that will give you the code, but these charge a fee usually. Try this, tell them you are traveling to another country and want to use a local sim card. Since this is a prepaid phone they should give you the unlock code anyway, you paid full price for the phone and they are legally obligated to provide you with it in most cases.

If you've got your phone brick try to put it into "restore" mode: <vol-down>+<home>+<power> and keep them pressed until you see restore screen. If that didn't work try to <vol-up>+<home>+<power> - you'll go to "download" mode. If that works then you're lucky and you'll be able to restore your phone. Give me a private shout @ [email protected] I'll provide you detailed instructions.

I think the best thing to do is bring it back to the place you bought it, explain your issues, and try to get it replaced.
