SOURCE: needle will not pick up bobbin threat

I had the exact same problem. The timing is off. You can actually fix this yourself all you need is an allen wrench. If you look at the rod the needle is inserted into and follow it up to about 2 inches below the top of the machine there should be a clamp. use the allan wrench to loosen the clamp and adjust the needle height. I used this website as a guide to getting the timing correct. http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine_Repair/Repair_Pictures/timing1.gif

now if only I could figure out why my thread keeps getting jammed under the bobbin!

SOURCE: Bobbin won't thread

Sounds like the bottom tension is to slack.
Look at the side of your bobbin case, when you thread the bobbin thread part of the route it runs is under a flat leaf spring. There is usually 2 very small scews on this leaf spring one screw holds the spring onto the casing and will be tight. The other is the tension adjuster screw, turn this screw clockwise half a turn at a time. After each half turn pull the bobbin thread until slight resistance is felt. Then try sewing if bunching/tangles still occur more tension is required, this is trial and error until the tension is corrert.
If you want a new manual try this website if your machine is not listed email them and they will try to help.

SOURCE: I purchased a Euro-Pro Shark 998A but the B looks the same

Go to this address

http://www.euro-pro.com/europro/faqdetail.aspx?modelno=998B

It does not list a 9988A, but I would imagine there is not much difference in how the threading and bobbin is done. This is a page of instructions as well as a manual to download. The manual is in Pdf format, so if you don;t hae acrobat reader, you'll need to go to www.adobe.com/acrobat and download it for free so that you can read the pdf file.

Good luck to you and Thank you for using Fix Ya!

SOURCE: Euro-Pro Shark Intelli-Sew 9110

you need a new bobbin case, only problem is finding the right one. I am currently wasting hours trying to find one for our 9110 intelli sew which has needle holes punched through it from where it jumps right out. I think lots of manufacturers know fine which parts fit the Euro-Pro but would like all of us to scrap them and go out and buy theirs!

I have a euro pro shark sewing machine. I just changed the thread for another project and cannot get the needle to pick up the bobbin thread. Any ideas?

Try installing a brand new needle. Bent/damaged needles will sometimes not pick up the bobbin thread.

Make sure the machine is threaded correctly. Check the bobbin--ie, it is turning the correct direction in the bobbin case and is threaded properly through the bobbin tension.

You might also try pulling the bobbin thread up to the top before beginning to stitch.

NEEDLE LOCKED ON SHARK EURO PRO

Release the screw on the needle. Back up the machine manually. Grab the need head with a pair of pliers and lever the needle upwards until it comes up from the bobbin. Keep it straight or the needle will snap. Strip it down and find out what caused it?

My machine is not picking up the bobbin thread

check the needle to see if it's damaged
make sure to have a 3-5 inch thread tail on the bobbin
then make sure the top thead has a 3-5 inch tail , then hold the top thead with your fingers( away from the needle) & with the other hand use the handwheel on the right hand side of the sewing machine & slowly manually let down the needle into the bobbin area & see if the bobbin thread will come up that way

The needle will not go down all the way, so it dosent sew on my euro pro, 7133 sewing machina

Check the manual to be sure the needle is installed correctly, this is usually with the flat side of the shank facing the back of the sewing machine.

Make sure the needle is not bent.

Also, there may be thread tangled in the bobbin area. Open the needle plate and bobbin; clean away any lint or thread that has accumulated there.

If this does not resolve the issue, the machine will need to be serviced/repaired by a sewing machine tech.

Won't catch bobbin thread

In order to see whether or not my euro-pro 9110 had a timing issue, the service rep had me change out the needle (making sure I was using anything but a Singer brand needle--they do not work in these machines). I re-threaded the needle, took out the bobbin casing and the plastic ring encasing the bobbin, then lowered the needle to see if the hook on the metal ring holding the bobbin actually catches the thread on its own. If it doesn't catch, it's a timing issue and needs repair. They can walk you through this process of troubleshooting and set up repair if need.
