Hot water runs but heating wont. Pump continously overunning.

What do you mean when you say that 'hot water runs but heating won't' ? Do you mean that water is coming out of the hot water faucet, but that it is cold? When you say pump continuously overrunning, what pump and what do you mean by overrunning? I would like to help you, but I'm not sure what you are asking. Also, is this a water heater, or a boiler?

How to determine the length of a rheem water heater ?

Do you mean size?... height, width, and diameter of a specific model?
Or do you mean the length of warranty coverage. You will need serial number located on label on side of tank.
Or do you mean age of water heater?

Suggest contacting Rheem.com

Rheem model 41vrp40n flashes twice and stops working

Error code means that you have electronic gas control valve.

Copy following link to identify gas control valve, read error code meanings for each, and download service manual relevant to each gas control, but not specifically Rheem since rheem does not post service manuals.

The fact that water heater restarts, means that water heater is getting gas, getting sufficient air for combustion, thermister is ok, gas pressure is good, etc.
The fact that you unplug and replug water heater and it works, shows that you have power vent model.
Since water heater worked correctly before, 2 flashes with Rheem power vent model could mean that pressure switch has failed.

Bubbling water at pressure releaf valve on top of valve. valve is rusted. rusty water in pan. Unit was installed new two years ago. Offer suggestions. Thanks

Rusted water usually means anode rod depleted and tank is rusting. Change 570241 anode rod every year or so.
Boiling water could mean bad thermostat causing run-away heating so water is released out of TP valve. Replace 994062 thermostat for 4 gallon.
Leaking water at TP valve could mean bad TP valve: replace TP valve with generic valve from hardware store.

The red light on the water heater keeps flashing

Attached to the water heater is a troubleshooting chart for your sequence light. 1 flash means..., 2 flashes means...., and so forth. Find the chart, count the flashes and see what it means and we'll go from there. Douglas

Blinking red light no heat

It sounds like you are actually in lock out. Recycle is when during a call for heat, the flame goes out, the unit will try to restart itself. Hope this helps
