TV NO SOUND
Try plugging the TV into the AUX on the back of the receiver. If you get sound from the tv when you switch to AUX on the front of the receiver, then you know the tv is ok. You may also try connecting your CD player to the TV input on the back of the receiver, switch it to TV on the front of the receiver and if you have CD sound from the tv selector, then the receiver should be ok. Helps narrow down where the problem is. You may have to set the tv to enable its audio outputs in the TV's menu. It might not be putting out any sound until that setting is enabled.

this could be the pre amp transistor or the power amp that needs replacing
the pre amp transistor is cheap but the power amp is not
if you did not crank it , then it is probably just the transistor that needs replacing

switch the HDMI cables around to make sure its not one of them, if the problem is one of them it will move with the cable,if no change i would suspect the coaxial cable next.
SOURCE: Put component signals in to the reciver but get none signals out!
You need to turn off the Display Discovery setting on the XBOX

If your remote also controls the Cable Box you might want to look at its audio settings. Maybe you muted it.
BTW: it would be a good idea to also run video and analog audio from the cable box directly to the TV if it has speakers so you can watch and listen independent of the Onkyo.
SOURCE: Power outage overnight. Now, Onkyo TX-SR603X no
Depending upon the type of power outage, you may have more of a confused receiver than a defecive one. Try unplugging the unit for an hour or so to see if that resets the whole thing back to "normal". If not, then further investigation with a scope or logic analyser will be required to determine whether the problem is with the internal CPU or a defect on the data lines. Unless the reset works, this is not likely to be a DYI repair.
