Never ever use the features of a Self Cleaning Oven. We see the damage they do here on Fixya, and the worst is the door not unlocking, and the most expensive is when they fry the mainboard.
They all have a door interlock. If you were to open it when it was running, it would frizz your eyebrows!

My best guest with info you provided is the door lock engaged and the door lock did not lock the door if it has an automatic door lock you can try unplugging it and seeing if the door lock motor will reset or see if there is a lever to lock the door that is manual and make sure the door is locked before cleaning. Most ovens have it in a automatic feature because of the high temp the oven goes to when it self cleans. Best bet is find the model and make and look up the code
Here is a detailed description of this error code. Your control can be rebuilt by fixyourboard.com. See article here on Kenmore/GE F1 Error Code: Oven Failure After Self Clean and F1 Errors
You have disabled the oven feature if you did adjust the door lock assembly. Interesting that the F1 stopped. notsure why myself.\ Usually the F1 feature does not go away unless you replace the electronic/control board. I wonder what would happen if you set the door lock assembly to where it was before?
