Microwave was ran for 5 minutes with nothin in it now no display

a problem with the control card that controls the functioning of the microwave

Magnetron is blown.
This high-energy microwave-transmitting device hides behind a small plate on side of oven.

any exposed metal will burn up a microwave.Unless it is a very exspensive model,It will cost more for a repairman to fix than it would to replace

Have Landlord replace unit after verifying that outlet has power.

In the future, follow manufacturer's cleaning instructions and DO NOT
run microwave without something in it (even a microwave safe cup of water).

to trouble shoot hold the door securely shut for longer than 5 min to see if it runs longer if it does the you should replace the interlock devise

This sounds like the unit is defective and if I were you I would return for replacment!

May be a little late, but... 1. Press Power Level button for approx 5 seconds - you get the 12 hour clock 2. Press again for 24 hour clock 3. Set hours using the 10 min and 1 min buttons 4. Press Power level button 5. Set minutes using the 10 min and 1 min buttons 6. Press Power level button And you are done

what was the problem in the beginning before replacing the power inverter ?? most of the main problem is the DISPLAY PANEL that needs to be replaced ( membrane circuit ) and to be honest with you , is not worth it to replace it cause the price you going to pay , you better off purchasing a new one . now days we call it THE DISPOSABLES MICROWAVES . hope this helps
