No internet connection.Or wifi, what would be solution to getting, that up and runnibg. T

Is this on a laptop running Windows? What version of Windows are you running? What kind of laptop is it. How are you trying to connect to the internet (router or Ethernet)?

if you are on a laptop, and depending on the brand sometimes you can accidentally bump the on/off switch for the WiFi. Try looking around the laptop for an on/off switch.

If that is not the case some laptop brands use a function key + F# key to turn on/off the WiFi function. Look for a key that has a button that reads func and look at the F# keys see if one contains a WiFi icon that allows you to turn on/off the WiFi.

Run Windows built in troubleshoot to try and determine what is exactly wrong.

Let me know if that helps or you need additional information.

My wifi not working

LOL, wifi does not work off a network cable. The network cable is used for a local connection to a modem or router. Wifi doesn't not require a cable. Did it use to work? Have you checked on both sides of the laptop and in front of the laptop to make sure you have not turned the wifi switch off if there is one? Have you checked to make sure you have not hit the FN (Function Key) + (F1 thru F12 function key) that toggles the wifi on an off? When you Press the FN key and hold it down while pressing the Function Key that corresponds to toggling the wireless normally it will display on the screen Wireless On or Wireless Off. The correct key should have a wireless signal icon like )))) on it. That's the key you want to hit while holding the FN key.

Turning on the wi-fi, toshiba satellite l505-s5966

Turning on of wifi in laptops are usually done using the keyboard's function key and a Wifi button located from F1 - F11. Also a LED light indicator is placed somewhere in your Notebook, Which will tell you if your wifi is turned On/Off. So here is what you must do.

  • First try to locate your wifi button which is located from F1 - F11, it has a small logo like an Antenna with a signal wave on both sides.
  • Now when you found the botton, for example in "F5" , Hold and press the Function Key which is the "FN" then press the wifi button which is the "F5" in short presentation is this " FN+F5"
  • Remember to press it only once because pressing it twice will result in an off wifi. So be sure to press it only once.
  • After pressing it, a LED light should turn on, it is located somewhere in your notebook. When this light is on this means that your wifi is already turned on.
  • and Thats it.
Hope that my solution will help.Thank you for using Fixya!

How do you turn the wifi on

Usually some laptops have dedicated key to turn on Wifi / blue tooth. and some should be turned on using the fn ( function key) which can be located near to the alt key and the wifi symbol key ( on the number keys) simultaneously.

Before that ensure that the driver software which came along with your computer is installed properly. because trying to switch on the wifi without installing proper wifi hardware drivers wont help at all.

I hope this is helpful to you
Thanks

How do i turn on the wireless on dell d810, it does not have any switch

You should see a blue WiFi symbol on the "F2" key (a little tower with curved lines on each side). All of the blue symbols on the keys are functions that are toggled on or off by using the Function "Fn" key.
Press and hold the Function "Fn" key, and at the same time press the "F2" key and then release both.
You should see a comment box in the bottom right corner of the screen pop up telling you that the WiFi has been turned on or off.

HOW DO I TURN ON THE WIRELESS CAPABILITY ON MY HP LAPTOP?

All depends on the Model laptop... Most All DV Series HP Laptops have a physical switch that you turn on and off (a slide switch).. It is located on the front, just under the lip of the touchpad on the left side... You can look on the front and both sides for a WiFi switch...

If you do not have a switch.....

You need to use your Function Key Combination..

The Fn Key is located down by your space bar to the left of it...It is your Function Key....

Pressing this and a corresponding F key (F1-F2-F3-F4.. etc...)

Look at the F keys, You will notice Icons as well on the individual keys.. usually in blue or grey color....

When The Fn (Function) Key Is Held Down - You can acces the secondary key options...

You Should See A WiFi Icon on one of them keys...

Press Fn and the "F" Key that has the WiFi icon Together...

Where is the wireless switch on a Acer Aspire 5735

Usually, if there is no HARD SWITCH for wifi, there is an equivalent keyboard key combination to turn wifi radio receiver ON. Look at your laptop's Function Keys: F1, F2, ... F12. Among them there is an icon for WIFI, something that looks like an antenna with wave signals. Now press and hold the FN key and press that function key with the wifi icon. Example, if the wifi icon appears at F10, then press FN + F10 to turn your wifi ON or OFF.

Wifi on 5720Z

I solved my problem, turns out my laptop has the Atheros card, not the suggested Intel card. I found a driver for Atheros from a different Acer Aspire model, and it seems to work fine.
