Screen protective on the front of it its cracked

We do not do projection TVs, but I have a good understanding of how they work and there's no risk - if anything - if you use a glass replacement.

it may not be a good idea simply because the glass used for TV shielding is specially designed to not reflect as much as regular glass, it is usually harder (tempered) etc., but as far as health or other similar concerns - you can probably go with any glass you can fit there or no glass at all.

Plasma TVs are more special in this regard and shouldn't be used without the front protectve glass.

Your part# for the lenticular screen is TKG2AH50641. Panasonic has them new for $358.65 plus shipping. Or you might be able to find one cheaper if you google it or find someone that has the same model TV that doesn't work anymore.

Yes you can get screen assemblies from www.tvrepairworld.com send them a email if you only need the outer panel as thats a three panel screen system.

If this device is still working however the crack is small or not deep enough to affect the picture quality of the device, buy a cheap glass repair kit. This will not only fill the crack but ensure the glass stays protected and will look new. Also, after using the repair kit, be sure to use a anti-glare shied to further protect the screen.

If the screen is cracked to a point where the image is blurred, distorted or the colours are not accuratly displayed, unfortunately the glass will not be able to fix without speacialty parts specific to that device. If this is the case, I suggest you visit the site provided at the bottom and follow the steps indicated on the page.

The front glass is just a protector for the LCD screen. If your TV turns on and the picture looks ok (may be a little color variation around the crack if front glass is pushing on it, variation OK black Bad) If the picture looks within the range described then replace the glass. It is just a piece of standard glass and a pretty easy diy job. If the LCD screen is broken the repair will be more than the replacement cost. Sad fact US TV repairmen make a living wage while the workers that assembled you TV wouldn't be able to buy lunch here with what they made putting it together.

No..the Glass Display Panel ... If cracked... Cannot be repaired.. it is not just a piece of glass, it is a layered panel with pixel grid panels along the top and sides that show color to the grid on the screen panel and go all throughout the display ..

If the Crack ocured behind the display panel on the plexiglass protective panel, that can be replaced... but No Not The Front LCD Display Panel.

I agree your screen is cracked. It's smooth to the touch because you're not actually touching the LCD section of the screen, just the protective coating. The advantage of owning an LCD TV over plasma... you can replace the screen either by going to the manufacturer or some place like e-bay. It's not a difficult thing to do if you take your time and pay attention to the details.
