This charger is suspect I would take it to your local battery outlet and have them check it. I would not trust this charger!

Charger not working fan not stay on and yellow light

You have the 4-amp charger version. If you have the U1 batteries on your Pride you can replace the charger with a 3-amp version after you have your batteries load tested and tested for internal resistance. Verify batteries are good and "finishing voltage" after charging is proper. (14.4volts per battery)

My hp compaq nc600 laptop wont turn on just an ornage light comes on, black screen and fan for 10 seconds then dies?

In the first instance you need to check your power lead. Exchange it for another one that you know works.

I have a HP8204B Pride battery charger 24vdc 5a 230vac, the wire to the end connector (3 pin with 2 of the pins bridged) has come away and i don't know which wire (one black, one red) to solder to which...

The red wire is positive and is soldered to pin 1. You can see the 1 on the pin (non solder side) of the plug housing or on the solder side as a raised stamp 1.
The black wire is soldered to the negative pin 2. Two of the pins are bridged to inhibit the power chair operation when the charger is plugged in. Hope this helps.

Computer won't start up and has a constant tone.

If the noise is constant then it means the problem is either:

1: a Power supply issue
2: a motherboard issue
3: a keyboard problem

the latter of the three being the easiest to fix, try booting with your keyboard unplugged or even better if you have another keyboard try using it to see if that corrects the problem.

If the above does not work then you have a problem with 1 or 2, and in order to find out for certain you will need to test it, you can goto your local computer diagnostic store to see if they can check which it is.

and hope its not a problem with the motherboard.

Hope this helps, and Good Luck
