SOURCE: How do I turn on wireless capabilities for a Dell Inspiron 1525?
I had the same problem, but I solved it by hitting the f2 key alone (w/out the function key). when i keyed them at the same time the wireless did not toggle on/off

Hi,
The wireless radio combination should be the Fn+F2 keys to activate it. That is to hold down Fn and hit the F2 key.
Regards.

only if your Fn key is not working then may be its not a hardware but a software problem. then you just have to replace the keyboard.
And to connect your LCD, you just need a VGA cabel or HDMI cabel. this laptop has got both the port use either of them to connect your LCD.

The two most common input devices for the Dell Inspiron 1525 are the keyboard and mouse. An unresponsive keyboard can indicate a deeper problem and require troubleshooting to narrow down the cause and find the proper solution. Laptops are collections of complicated computer components and sometimes a file or two can become damaged and affect the way the machine behaves. The first action to perform when things aren't working right is to reboot. When your laptop restarts, it essentially resets all the files and programs to the "starting" position and corrects any small errors that may have occurred during the last session. Eliminate Conflicting Hardware With an almost unlimited number of accessories, programs and software available for your 1525, it's possible something else installed on or connected to your computer is interfering with its ability to properly communicate with the keyboard. Shut down the laptop and disconnect everything attached to it. Power up and test the keyboard. If it works, start reconnecting each accessory, one by one, until the keyboard stops working. You've found your culprit. Try External Keyboard To determine whether the problem exists in the keyboard itself a hardware problem or with the software that controls keyboard function, attach an external keyboard and see if it works. If it does, the problem with your 1525's keyboard may lie in the keyboard itself, such as a loose cable. If the external keyboard doesn't work, the problem may lie with the operating system's software that controls keyboard function, such as the drivers. Update Software Sometimes a laptop will stop functioning properly due to out-of-date drivers or other software. Always check Microsoft's website for any updates available for your operating system and check Dell's website for updates to the drivers and BIOS installed on your system. In many cases, installing the latest updates will help correct issues and keep your system working smoothly and efficiently. Check for Damage Physical damage, such as a liquid spill and short circuits, can prevent the keyboard from operating properly. Any amount of liquid spilled on your keyboard can cause a short circuit to the components and a sticky beverage such as juice or soda can cause the keys to stick and become unresponsive. Clean the spilled liquid from under the keyboard fix sticky keys. Laptop repair shops can do this for you if the task is out of your comfort zone. Hope this helps
Although the mouse is an almost indispensable tool in navigating through programs and websites with your laptop, the keyboard offers quick shortcuts to open and manipulate files and information.
