I presume that you are talking about an automatic needle threader? In this case, first of all check that the needle is correctly in place -- inserted all the way up as far as it can go. Then manually turn the wheel so that the needle is in the high position. If this doesn't fix the problem, then maybe your needle is bent, so replace it.

SOURCE: i dont understand what it means by...

I beleive what they are asking you to do is to bring up the bobbin thread to the top of the throat plate( which cover the bobbin area, to do this you hold the top thread end and manually turn the wheel to engage the bobbin thread and bring it to the top of the throatplate, now you should be ready to sew

SOURCE: Machine was working fine.

Check the tension on the top thread - this sounds like the top tension device is not engaged or has broken.

Lower the pressure foot and pull the top thread from just before the needle, it should offer resistance to your pulling. If not, check the tension device, rethread and ensure the thread is pulled between the tension discs.

If no joy, then perhaps a trip to the shop is in order, the tension spring/device may have broken.

Sewng machine fails to loop on bottom bobbin

There are several possible causes for this problem.

Simplest first.

1) The machine has sat in the closet for three or more months, and the oil has ceased. The fine oil requried for these precision machines does run away, and/or cease up into a grease like paste, causing the parts that move in precise harmony, to be not so precise.
The cure for this, is to remove all thread and fabric, and run the machine full speed for about two to five minutes. This heats up the parts and loosens up ceased parts. A good re application of fresh oil helps too.
NOTE: Check the needle is Straight by turning the machine a couple of turns by hand and seeing that the needle dosn't hit any metal parts. A breaking needle can cause dammage to the machine or user in when operating at high speeds.

2) Tension dials have been knocked out of balance. There is a numbered tension dial on the front of the machine, somewhere along the threads path from spool to needle. if this is too tight, the thread will not leave a loop big enough to catch the bottom thread. Be sure this is set to about 3, usually. It should be adjusted while stitching, when you get to that point.
On the bottom thread, on the Bobbin Holder piece that comes out of the bottom, there is a small screw that adjusts tention of the thread comming out. This screw should not be tight, but tight enough. Completely by tactile intuition, this screw should be adjusted to allow the thread to slide out of the bobbin holder smoothly. It must have some tension to pull the thread from it, but not so much that it is noticeable, or take much of a grip on the thread to pull it out. (difficult to describe)
These two tensioners must balance so the threads, cross paths, but also pull the stitched snugly into the fabric being sewed.

3) Bent Needle, this is a problem if the fabric being sewed has pulled the needle off it's center. If it is not perfectly straight, don't use it.

4) Cheap thread can be a problem. If the thread is frayed, or fuzzy looking, it may be that it will not work with as fine a needle you are using. Needles have various sizes and sized holes to feed the thread through, a fine needle needs fine thread, and coarse thread needs a larger needle.

These are the primary causes of the threads not looping together properly. I hope this helps.

I cleaned my machine and now the bottom thread making huge loops and it is jamming up. i have a necchi omega 6015

have you cleaned under the needle plate
change the needle
make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
some thread & needle don't work togeather--try this
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

Can't get the needle thread to loop over the bobbin thread. The bobbin thread is already thru the hole.

You only need the thread to loop over the bobbin thread to bring up the thread when you are threading the machine. If, you mean it is not sewing after threading then I need more information.

Pfaff sewing machine 1469. Does not pick up bobbin thread. Large loops of top thread on bottom of material.

make sure you have it threaded correctly, and also check and make sure you have the needle in correctly. The flat part of the needle goes towards the back.(away from you). Also double check that the bobbin is in the proper way and is going thru the tensions it needs to go thru.
pull your threads to the back of fabric, hold together & hold until you've stictched an inch or so.
The thread from the bobbin should start to creep up towards the feed dogs and make a loop that the needle and thread can "grab" to pull it up thru the hole for stitching. You might want to slowly put the needle down thru the feed dogs and then slowly with the winder not the pedal but with the winder slowly bring the needle up again. Try this a few times and see if the needle and bring it up. try it couple of times to get it right.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

When i use sewing cloth in backside the thread will too loose then i use tension tight it correct in 8 number but manual book says 4 or 5 is correct wat can i do help me

Unthread your machine and set the tension to 4.5. rethread your machine up to the needle and then put the presser foot down. If the thread pulls hard, your machine is threaded right if it pulls easily, the thread is not thru the tension wheel correctly.

Rule of thumb:: loops on the top, problem on the bottom.
loops on the bottom, problem on the top.

Sewing machine

Simple solution..
take the thread off your machine, set your tension to the middle setting. rethread your machine up to the needle. before threading the needle, put your presser foot down. If your thread pulls hard, then the machine is threaded right. If it pulls easily, you need to chead the thread thru the tension wheel.

Sewing machine

This is the general rule of thumb.
Loops on the bottom, problem is on the top. Loops on the top, problem is on the bottom.

This is what you should try.. First of all, unthread the machine and start over. Just before threading the needle, put your presser foot down. If the thread pulls thru easily, it is not thru the tension wheel right. If you cannot pull the thread thru, thread the needle and try a few stitches.

Bottom thread is looping.

If the thread is looping on the bottom, then your problem is on the top. Pull the thread out of the needle and and put the presser foot down. If the thread pulls thru easily, then you need to rethread your machine making sure the thread is thru the top tension wheel correctly.

Rule of thumb::
Loops on the bottom, Problem on the top
Loops on the top, problem on the bottom.

Tension Problem on Pfaff 2034, bobbin loops

Rule of thumb.. Loops on the bottom, problem on the top. Loops on the top, problems on the bottom.

Set your upper tension at 4, and rethread the machine from the top. Just before you thread the needle, but the presser foot down. If the thread pulls right thru easily, then the thread is not thru the tension wheel right. Because, if you can't pull the thread thru with the presser foot down, you have it threaded right.

Cannot get tension balance correct

Try this. reomove thread and bobbin from machine.. Set thread tension to the middle number. Rethread machine carefully making sure the thread is thru the tension wheel. Replace bobbin making sure that thread is thru it's tensioner.
Rule of thumb. Loops on the bottom, problem is on the top. Loops on the top, problem is with the bobbin.
