Hitachi tv **** and people should just stop buying them.

Tv goes on and off. temp and lamp light blinks on and off alternatively. i've had my tv for a little over a year and did not by the extended warranty. i can turn it on but it goes back off within seconds and the temp and lamp light blinks on and off for a while. then it comes back on and within seconds again it goes back off. there is a class action lawsuit against hitachi lead by a law firm in dallas called RBB

Oh yeah I heard something light that. but yeah it's most probable a defective ballast lot of mitsubishis have had this issue, I'm gonna read more about the lawsuit just for the 411

Make sure all the fans are working correctly. If the problem persists then it might be the ballast, the power supply or a bad temp sensor.

Likely the lamp in the set has failed here which does make sense if the picture was dim before---a lot of lamps just before failing all the way dim down.

If is the lamp and temp light on the front panel, then it could be that the bulb (lamp) needs to be replaced. Make sure you buy an original replacement lamp (phillips) they are supposed to last longer. There are also videos on you-tube that show you how to replace the lamp. Hopw this is helpful.

How long has it been sense you changed the lamp? This type of symptom seem as if it could be the lamp needs replaced. Check the manual for the lamp number. Make sure you buy an original hitachi lamp. I assume this is the brand. Hope this is helpful.

cheap bulbs don't always have the correct rating.

Refer to owners manual ! Blinking indicates the type of fault that is occuring on all your tv sets. example : power light on red - indicator light beside it green but blinks rapidly for half a second rapidly then shuts off. This refers to a faulty lamp or a lamp that is near its expiration. Read your manuals if indicators refer to easy repair sweet, but if it says call tech then bummer...
