2004 PT Cruiser, won't start, new battery. No clicking or lights Check ignition and still nothing

Check the main fuse in the fuse block under the hood where the heavy battery positive cable feeds into the fuse block. It should have a high amp fuse ( around 125 to 175 amp ) at the entry point of the heavy gauge battery cable. It may have blown. Has it been jumped or used to jump another vehicles battery ?

Please tell me how to rduce the sensitivity of touchpad on my Advent laptop that is 3 months old before it drives me to insanity!

It almost seems like magic when you type something on your notebook and the cursor jumps over the document because your palm touched the touchpad. So your text appear all over the screen and not where it ought to be. How do you solve this problem?

It is because of the input sensitivity of the notebook touchpad is too high. Many laptops come with a special driver (Ex:. Synaptics TouchPad) that can reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad. Without using such a driver, the touchpad is integrated as a normal PS/2 mouse and this means very high sensitivity. To solve this 'highly sensitive' problem,

  • Right-click on 'My Computer' and then select 'Properties' in the context menu. This opens 'System Properties' dialog box.
  • Click on the 'Hardware' tab and then on the 'Device Manager'. Here you will ?nd an entry titled 'Mice and other pointing devices' in the 'Device Manager' window. When you double-click on this entry, it shows the touchpad as a PS/2 Compatible mouse.
  • Right-click on this entry to go to the properties of the touchpad, select 'Advanced Settings', and then click on 'Sample Rate'. You can reduce the degree of sensitivity here.
  • Follow this tip and you can solve the 'jumping cursor' problem easily.

I have a virus on my computer that none of my scans can seem to find. I have even done a system recovery to month ago and it is still here. I am in safe mode on my computer right now trying to find help....

The approach for a virus infection depends on what type of infection we are talking about. We need to know first the type of infection or what file is infecting the computer. Check the system configuration utility on your windows by typing msconfig on the run box. Check out the content of the startup and services tabs. Reseach on the entries on what are potentially infections running on your computer. Once you have found out the infection, try to search for entries in the registry editor. Type regedit on the run command. On the Registry editor, right click on computer and the choose search. Search for all entries of the found infection and delete them.
Note: Make sure that you create a restore point prior to deleting entries in the registry editor. One mistake here may make your computer unable to boot. But before creating a restore point, delete all current restore points by going to system properties. (right click on My Computer and choose properties) then on the system restore tab, un-check the box that says enable system restore then click on apply. Then put a check again then click apply. This should delete all previous restore points.

After installation of a network adapter, that was not compatible with home computer, installation froze. I rebooted and got errors like these: AirGcfg.exe Entry point not found, aps search interface could...

Your best bet is to try a system restore to a point before you installed the bad driver.

Click on START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORES, SYSTEM TOOLS, System Restore. Then select Restore My Computer to an earlier time. Hopefully you will have a restore point dated just before you installed the driver. Restore to that point and see if it fixes the problem.
