Why is control locked light flashing

I understand you are struggling with the lock feature on your Electrolux duel fuel range, model EW30DS65GS. In order to cancel the Control Lock feature, press Control Lock and hold for 3 seconds. The control will unlock the oven door and resume normal operation.

This door lock feature is activated by pressing Control Lock and holding for 3 seconds. The Door Lock indicator light will flash for 20 seconds until the door has finished locking. Do not attempt to open the door while Door Lock is flashing, this may result in the door locking open.

This advise is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet front loader washers and dryers with a Control Lock problem.

This may or may not be an indication of a serious problem. In the majority of the cases, this is a simple operator error. Nearly all these model appliances have some sort of Control Lock feature on the front panel now. This is a designed safety feature that is used to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. The controls can be easily locked or unlocked by pressing and holding the following button on the front panel:

Whirlpool Duet Washer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Whirlpool Duet Dryer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Washer - Press and hold the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Dryer - Press and hold the AUTO DRY LEVEL button for 3 seconds.

These instructions may not be all inclusive for all Kenmore and Whirlpool models, but they are the most common. Chances are, if you have a Control Lock feature, the instructions will be printed on the front panel adjacent to the button that is required to lock or unlock the controls.

NOTE: These instructions may also work for newer model Maytag, Hotpoint, Admiral and Fridgidaire model front loaders as well. Refer to your owner's manual or front panel for instructions pertaining to your sepcific model.

If you want to enable the Controls Lock/Unlock Feature:-
To enable the Controls Lock feature when dryer is running: Press and hold the CONTROLS LOCK/UNLOCK button for 3 seconds. The control is locked when a single beep is heard and the Controls Lock status light is on. This feature allows you to lock your settings to avoid unintended use of the dryer. You can also use the Controls Lock feature to avoid unintended cycle or option changes during dryer operation.

■When the dryer is off, it is not necessary to press the Control On button before activating the Controls Lock feature.

For unlocking: Press and hold the CONTROLS LOCK/UNLOCK button for 3 seconds to turn this feature off.

NOTE:- When the dryer is running and Controls Lock is on, the dryer can be stopped by pressing the Pause/Cancel button, but cannot be restarted until the control is unlocked.

If the model number you listed this question under is correct, this model dishwasher has two locking features (both controlled by the same button).

There is a Control Lock which locks all the control buttons, so the dishwasher cannot be started. It is enabled by pressing and holding the lock button for about 3 seconds. To disable, press and hold the lock button until the light goes out. A single beep will be heard when the feature is turned on.

There is also a Keylock feature which locks the drawer shut and disables all the controls so the dishwasher cannot be opened or started. It is enabled by pressing and holding the lock button for about 5 seconds. To disable, press and hold the lock button until the lock light goes out. Two beeps will be heard when the feature is turned on.

Both these functions are safety features that enable the consumer to lock the dishwasher controls to prevent children from inadvertently starting the appliance.
