The first problem was it wouldn't drain/spin. Now it won't start a cycle at all. When I press the start button once, it beeps. The start light flashes and the wash, rinse and final spin lights come on. When I press the start button again, it sounds like the door lock engages, but the start light begins flashing and nothing happens. What could be the problem(s)?

It is probably a clogged pump (don't look in owners manual for info - curiously it isn't in there - just says call tech - bolocks!)
Remove 2 screw on front bottom panel.
Remove cover.
Plastic boot and pump are on right had side. Clean out - and use the change to buy a drink - celebrating the fact you didn't have to spend hundreds on a tech!

The solution from testy helped me but I decided to change it.
I cut the plastic latch away from the end of the interlock, just the little bar that holds the door closed. This means that the lock position doesn't affect the door.
I then used the little piece of plastic to act as 2 packing pieces to hold the lock half closed. This works fine.
Don't push the lock fully closed or it doesn't work

I've had this happen before. Try unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for about five minutes. Plug in and try again.
