Hello friend, I appreciate your post!

I understand your having an issue with the bleach dispenser of your Frigidaire front load washer. I would like to ask a couple of additional questions to better assist you. Is it not dispensing bleach? If you add fabric softener does it do the same thing? Finally, what is your model number so I may be able to proceed further? Normally you can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the upper front of the door frame. Thank you for the post and I look forward to assisting you. -Matt

SOURCE: front load fabric softener dispensing

Try to clean it out. Pour very hot water over it. It's probably just gummed up. This happens. Is it a drawer type thing. Remove and soak if possible. I need more information before I can help you further. Model, Brand etc.

SOURCE: fabric softener dispenser won't drain the fabric softener.

Not sure if you already did this, but try pulling the face plates off inside the dispencer and take it to the sink and run very hot water into the "stand pipe" that projects off the back of the face plate to make sure they are clear and no old crusty products are in the hole.. Then put them back in and push down hard and make sure they are fully seated.
If the plates are loose and not seated or clogged, there will be little or no siphon effect to draw the fluids out of the dispenser. At least thats how it seems to work
Also, if you pull the top off the washer, there is an adjustment on top of the dispenser to adjust the dispensing ratios I believe.
I just did that procedure the other day on my machine and the wife said it works good now.
Let me know it it works for you, I was wondering if it was just a coincidence.

The dispenser itself could be clogged, misaligned, or damaged, and unable to dispense the detergent, bleach, or fabric softener properly. Inspect the dispenser for any damage and replace if necessary.

Bleach dispenser

Check water flow INTO the dispenser. This happens during the
cycle to dispense the bleach evenly through the load.

Kenmore frontloader fabric softener dispenser is clogged

There should be pins located somewhere on the dispenser or a grey thing located inside the dispenser, push it down and that will release the dispenser from the washer. Afterwards you can put in in the dishwasher, this should clean out any clogging residue.

The part where I pour fabric softener in it seems to be clogged somehow. I cleaned it out and it seems to still be clogged is there any suggestions that you can give me?? Please help...thanks!!

Are you sure you have water flow to the reservoir?

Does it look like the Fabric Softener is diluted with water flow?

See page 33 of the Service Manual for Bleach/Softener Dispenser Removal but I don’t think that is your problem….Rich

See page 16 of the Service Manual to go into Board Output Test. Turn on the Fabric Softener Valve and see if you hear the solenoid hum then turn on the Cold water valve and see if the dispenser fills and flushes with cold water. If not then you need to begin troubleshooting at the dispenser valve. This valve can be seen on page 36 lower left side pic and top right side pic…..Rich

Water colects in lid sometime during the cycle.Drains onto washed clothes when lifting the lid to remove clothes. Water seems to be combined with fabric softener. Bleach holder also is filled with water....

I had the exact same problem. The problem is that your fabric softener dispenser is clogged up with a lot of dried, sticky fabric softener. The flooding comes from the part of the cycle when water that is to be flushed through the fabric softener dispenser can't drain properly so it spills into the bleach dispenser and onto the top and into the lid gasket as well.

To remove the dispenser for cleaning, you need to open the top of the washer. (First pull it away from the wall.) Carefully pry off the little emblem in the front center of the washer lid. Then remove the screw. Then slide the top forward to you about a 1/2 inch and prop it up carefully.

You then need to remove both hoses that are attached to the bleach and fabric softener dispenser (part of the same unit). Then unsnap the combined unit from the washer top. Then clean all the gunk out by running it under scalding hot water in the laundry tub and swirling the gunk out. Don't attampt to remove the blue round fabric dispenser part from the unit.

Put it all back together and you're good until you clog it up again with too much fabric softener; maybe several years again.

Good luck.

Fabric Soft and Bleach despenser on MAYTAG TL FAV6800 won't drain

I'll see if I can help. Can you just clarify if by won't drain. Does it look like no water flow is flushing the the Bleach and Fabric Softener dispensers?

The Fabric Softener dispenser could be clogged but I suspect the dispenser’s valves are not opening to flush the dispenser’s. If the Fabric Softener dispenser is clogged you can flush with White Vinegar solution and clean exit port with a pipe cleaner. I do not suspect a clog with the Bleach dispenser.

You could go into Service Mode and turn on the water valves for the dispensers to check if water is sent to the dispensers.

If you have no water flow to the Softener dispenser here is the non technical troubleshooting I would take. Go into Service Mode (page 14 of the Service manual) by Pressing Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the console beeps.

Now go to page 16 to Service Manual and enter Board Output Test by pressing the Delicates key. This will lock the lid. Now press the Wrinkle Control Key Pad on the console. The Control Board will send 120VAC to the bleach dispenser water valve. Did you hear the Solenoid hum? If so and you have no water flow diverted to the Softener dispenser the solenoid valve may be stuck closed. If you did not hear the solenoid valve hum the solenoid field coil may be open. Do the same process for the Bleach dispenser water valve with Bulky Items Key Pad.

Final technical troubleshooting as a technical owner of the machine would be to take my DVM and verify 120VAC from the Control Board to the Bleach/Fabric Softener dispenser valves.

See page 36 lower left hand corner is the Bleach/Softener dispenser valve.

Here is the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

The Part Number for the Dispenser Valve is 25001043 you can order from this site or search the internet for best price.

Good luck…….Rich

Fabric Softener Won't Dispense

The fabric softener dispenser is notorious for clogging. Liquid fabric softener is essentially a liquid form of wax. After a period of time it begins to gunk up the inside of the fabric softener dispenser. If you remove the dispenser drawer and look into the cavity, there should be a series of holes in the upper part of the compartment where water sprays into all the dispenser trays. These holes get gunked up and clogged and water will not dispense properly. As a result, the washer goes through a complete cycle, but the dispenser stays full. If this is the case, you can take some cotton swabs and/or toothpicks and clean these holes real good. It may be a bit meticulous, but it should take care of the problem. Post back and let me know if this helps.
