Guys - is it possible to recode a PCB from one machine to another if the PCB is the same. I know you can buy non-configured new, but if I can find a secondhand machine with the same board can over ride / recode the board to fit the one I am trying to fix? thanks as always

Try an auto wreckers . they MAY have one . It will be almost certain that you will have to go to a Kia Dealer and get them to recode (Match) the remote to your car. Have a look on line for universal auto remotes. Im sure someone would have a generic or possibly a genuine remote, but same situation. Remotes are all coded to match your particular car. A Dealer would have to recode. I would doubt anyone would be able to tell you how to recode on the internet .. otherwise "undesireables" would be able to recode anyones car and steal it.

Normally not, the code is fixed and not designed to be user changeable. If you are competent in electronics you can swap the chip.

hi,when fuse blown out there's a possibility that internal wiring were also short circuited..that's why even you replace it with a new fuse in the plug still it will blew out because large current will flow within the circuit . It is much safer to have PCB check or if your expenses in having that PCB see by a technician is higher , then it is better to purchase a new one.It is much safer to use a warrantied PCB and at the same time it has a much longer life span.

Yes you can buy either a new door catch or the interlock switch for under £10.
Try espares or barty spares on ebay.
Be careful if the door lock light is flashing as this could be the same problem as mine having replaced both items and the pcb control panel. It might be motor brushes causing a short in the pcb board awaiting answer from expert pcb is £100 brushes £15

I've seen the same problem in one of these we had in for repair. The pcb in the handle is involved with controlling the roller motor. The problem is with the motor. In my view, this machine is a triumph of design over practicality... The motor is located right at the bottom of the base - making it very vulnerable to getting wet, and as difficult as possible to get to. What happens is that the motor gets wet, rusts and seizes up, and that causes the pcb to burn out (or possibly it's so wet that there's a short circuit).
So, what do you need? You need a pcb, a brush roll motor, the patience of a saint, a very good memory for what goes where when you reassemble... and a long hard think about whether you'd recommend one of these to a friend!
