The yellow is video. Red and white are sound. If you are connecting a DVD you need to find INPUTS on your television. Depending on the age of your television and / or DVD, compatibility may be an issue. Try the internet for advice on your particular set as even some with HDMI inputs will only display picture and not sound. You could even ask at your local electronics store. Believe it or not, there are still some nice people out there. Not sure if this will help but good luck.

I am trying to hook up a Memorex DVD player (MVD 2022), and I am not getting it to work. I need to see how to connect the cords or what cords I need. I can't seem to find how to download a manual.

Connect a yellow RCA cable from the yellow video jack on the DVD player to the yellow video input jack on the TV. This will give you the picture. For sound, connect a white RCA cable from the white audio jack on the DVD player to the white audio input jack on the TV. This will give you sound. Use the TV remote to select the input you connected the DVD player to, just press INPUT SELECT or VIDEO or the like until you see the DVD player's output.

Power on the TV and the DVD player. Place a DVD in the disc tray of the player and press PLAY.

If your TV has only a RF coax input, then you will need to buy an RF Modulator.

Trying to hook up panasonic veira flat screen tv without a manual. Not sure where to put the red, yellow and white cord.

These cable is to connect your tv to other hardware like a dvd player. Just plug the yellow cord on the yellow input in the TV and in the yellow output of the DVD, and the same thing for the other two colors. The yellow it's for the image, and the white/red are for the stereo sound (right and left channels).
If you don't have extra hardware you wont need to connect that cable.

I have a proscan tv model #PS27108, I do not know how to hook up the dvd player in regards to the cords and what channel to put it on? I would appreciate any help with this! Thanks in advance?

The ProScan will accept input on input 90/91/92 using the connectors on the backside. You can use S-video[the little round black connector] or the composite video [yellow connector] for the video in and use the red / white pair for audio in.
90 selects S-video and audio 1 in
91 selects composite and audio 1 in
92 selects composite in 2 and audio 2 in
Connect these cords to the S-video or composite yellow output, and the Red-right White- left audio outputs on the DVD.
If you don't want to do this, get a RF modulator ~$15, and connect the yellow/red/white from the DVD output to the inputs on the modulator, and then connect the RF [cable] output of the modulator to the antenna input on the ProScan, and tune channel 3 or 4.

Can't get my dvd/vcr to tape and play back

Color codes for A/V cables:

Yellow: Composite Video
Red: Right Audio Channel
White: Left Audio Channel (mono)

Does your TV have a video & audio OUTPUT on the back of the TV?

If so, will need another set of audio/video cables and you need to connect the yellow cable from the video OUTPUT of the TV to the video INPUT (yellow) of the DVD/VCR and connect the Red cable from the right OUTPUT of the TV to the red INPUT of the DVD/VCR. Then connect the white cable from the left OUTPUT of the TV to the white INPUT of the DVD/VCR. If your TV is not in stereo, just connect up the white cable for mono audio.

If your TV set does NOT have audio/video OUTPUTS, then you will still need another set of audio/video cables and connect the yellow cable from the video OUTPUT of the cable box to the yellow video INPUT of the DVD/VCR and connect either the red or white (or both if possible) to the red or white audio INPUTS of the DVD/VCR.

You need two sets of cables because you want to watch DVD's & tapes on your TV (Path #1) and you want to record the TV channel shows back to your DVD/VCR (Path #2).

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good Luck!

- Jim
