That most used guitar dating site is said to be incorrect about 8 digit Gibson serial numbers, which, with 9 digit numbers, were used on their later models.
It was made in 2014, on the 247th day, in Kalamazoo MI
"Serial numbers can be extremely tricky," says Gibson Customer Service Manager Jason Davidson, whose team fields calls and emails regarding every Gibson division. "Some can tell you a lot about a guitar, and some don't really tell you anything. Gibson has had so many different schemes over the years, and now we're using reissue serial numbers that look like the old serial numbers." Gibson Support Serial Number Search
From the SN alone, it appears to be a 2003. Gibson quite frequently used the first and fifth number of the serial to tell you what year the instrument was built in. But this completely depends on the model/ where the serial number is located/ if it is stamped, embedded, or located inside of a hollow body. If you can post a picture of the guitar and the serial number that would greatly help.
Have you checked the serial number? I tried it on this site with this result. Serial number unrecognized
The site does have other things that you can check.

Your guitar was made at the
Nashville Plant, TN, USA
August 22nd, 1991
Production Number: 30
As for the wood generally les pauls are made with a mahogany body and a maple top. unless your studio is a studio lite, in which case your guitar would of had a chromite block of wood in the center to lighten it up.
