This machine has become deafeningly loud on its spin cycles. It is four years old - has some sort of sound proofing worn away?
Is it moving around? I am guessing not so guess would be the drum is out of balance.
THis is the worst washing machine ever. I purchased mine 3 years ago and it the sound and vibration during the spin cycle is so deafening. DO NOT BUT MAYTAG BRAVOS XL WASHING MACHINES!

Your maytag is really an amana and the bearings are bad. Yes it does cost a lot. If i were you i would buy another washer. Get a whirlpool. (whirlpool now owns maytag)

you have a bad tub seal asm. remove agitator, spin basket and tub asm. remove seal and install new one. good luck

This isnt really a solution because Im having the same problem. The repair man that came said that is buildup of soap in the water line. I use my own powder soap, not h/e, and its not desolving and getting built up in the lines. Im not sure what to do to get it to stop doing this. He suggested cutting back on the amount of soap and running hot water through the lines which I have done for the last couple of days but I still have this problem.

May be the bearing in your direct drive shaft. If washer is a belt drive, the belt could be frayed
