Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000.

I have recently changed my old Microsoft cable connected mouse to the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000.
It works fine most of the time but the pointer freezes intermittently. Sometimes I have to key in Ctrl-Alt-Delete to unfreeze it.
I've checked for updates.
Any suggestions?

Hi

It is not the problem with the mouse
Since you have said
"I have to key in Ctrl-Alt-Delete to unfreeze it"

Which means an application in the os is taking a lot of memory and cpu consumption
thats why it seems not working

******************
To confirm it(Whether mouse is causing trouble)) try running any live operating system(Linux,ubuntu,suse,fedora..etc) or different os(LInux...etc)and check whether the problem still persists

if yes leave me a comment . i will help you out

hope this will help you

I have lost the Receiver of My Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 7000, how can I connect it without that receiver?

You can't. You need to replace the receiver or the complete mouse. Receivers don't appear to be sold separately. A new one is $134.

Can you connect a Microsoft wireless mouse to a different receiver?

We're sorry to know that you lost the USB receiver for your Surface mouse. Unfortunately, you cannot pair it to any USB receivers since the mouse and its USB receiver were matched and mated to one another and Microsoft don't have "Unifying Receivers" that will let you pair the Mouse to a different one

I need instructions on removing the cover to replace the battry.microsoft wireless notebook laser mouse 7000.

  • Press the "button with the star symbol" while prying up the top cover of the mouse's body to replace the batteries. If the batteries have power, the LED on the underside of the mouse will illuminate.
  • 2 Plug the receiver component into an open and working USB port on your computer. Your computer should make a noise when the receiver is connected, and the system tray will show that you have connected new hardware. Some USB ports may not be compatible, so it is important to try several ports to find one that works.
  • 3 Press and hold the "connect" buttons on the underside of the mouse and on the receiver for several seconds to refresh the connection. An interrupted connection will cause jerky or inconsistent on-screen performance of the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000.

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 'sticking' issue

You did not say what type of surfaces you tried. For example, a laser mouse with no ball in it, will not ever work right on a glass table top. And texture has nothing to do with it either, so putting a pure white sheet of paper under it won't help either. The best is to find something with a nice fine pattern on it. Something rough works better than something smooth, but only because texture indirectly causes a dark pattern.

Replace the batteries. If this doesn't work, resync the mouse and the wireless adapter that is plugged into the computer.

Usually you can do this by holding down the button on the wireless adapter first and then the button on the mouse. This will also change the frequency in case something is interfering.
