Changed the plugs and wires, and fuel filter. the car will start and drive but then dies. it will idle a few minutes and then choke out. what could it be?
You might want to have your fuel pump checked. I had the same symptoms with a Grand Voyager. It would start fine and would actually run okay when it was cool out but when it warmed up (I live in Phoenix) it would just quit. Wait a few minutes and it would start only to quit again when you started driving.
Hi, I would check the CPCV valve.
Put a Fuel Gauge on the Fuel System, see what is happening if the Pressure is dropping below 40 PSI, there is your answer. If it stays, then you have an Electrical issue.

is this a supper cahrged grand prix if so check fuel pump resistor located behind right front head light or on fire wall its made of white ceramic has to wires going to it jump the two wire on the connection going to it if it runs longer then 15 min then replace resiustor.

Possibly a weak fuel pump, idle air control valve, vacuum leaks, or loose or damaged wiring in the ignition system. Check for vacuum leaks first. That's the only one that won't cost anything. Make sure all intake bolts are tight, and all hoses are connected properly and in good condition.

the brain is not sending the proper fuel pressure codes to the fuel rail to evenly distribute the fuel to the intake and fuel rail.
perform a fuel pressure test check on it ok? also run a diagnostic scan on it and see what codes come out.

There are a few other things taht could be causing fuel starvation. First of all, did you pull the injectors and clean out the individual filters? There are small, conical screens inside the top of each injector, and they could be clogged. Second, There could be some carbon build-up on the intake valves, which would act like a sponge for the fuel after initial start-up. A can of BG44K fuel system cleaner from NAPA will get rid of that. If it is neither of these, the fuel pressure regulator could be leaking. Other than this, the car would need to be diagnosed by a shop before action is taken. I hope this helps you!
Testimonial: "I ended up taking the car to a local shop for diagnosis. It turns out that the fuel pump is week and not supplying enough pressure to the motor. "
SOURCE: Pontiac Aztek 2001 - 3.4l (non-GT); Codes: P0135, P0141, P0420 all O2 + Converter. Ideas on problem?
P0135 bank 1 sensor 1 open or short in wires, bad connections, bad sensor ,or bad ecm. P0141 bank 1 sensor 2 same diag as P0135. P0420 cat below threshold open or short, or faulty Ho2s sensors.you may have several problems. start with sensors circuit if good change sensors if not trace to ecm if reading not right replace ecm if all good replace sensors clear codes retest drive two drive cycles for cat to clear tests. then with no dtcs present test fuel pressure , injectors, then ignition system ,timing valves ,map, maf sensors, throttle sensor, crank sensor cam sensor, compression.
