You might want to have your fuel pump checked. I had the same symptoms with a Grand Voyager. It would start fine and would actually run okay when it was cool out but when it warmed up (I live in Phoenix) it would just quit. Wait a few minutes and it would start only to quit again when you started driving.

Put a Fuel Gauge on the Fuel System, see what is happening if the Pressure is dropping below 40 PSI, there is your answer. If it stays, then you have an Electrical issue.

SOURCE: 1998 3800 v6 firebird... wont run right after starting

Possibly a weak fuel pump, idle air control valve, vacuum leaks, or loose or damaged wiring in the ignition system. Check for vacuum leaks first. That's the only one that won't cost anything. Make sure all intake bolts are tight, and all hoses are connected properly and in good condition.

SOURCE: 88 fiero starts on it own, but wont stay running.

the brain is not sending the proper fuel pressure codes to the fuel rail to evenly distribute the fuel to the intake and fuel rail.
perform a fuel pressure test check on it ok? also run a diagnostic scan on it and see what codes come out.

SOURCE: 1996 2.2 liter. Starving for fuel

There are a few other things taht could be causing fuel starvation. First of all, did you pull the injectors and clean out the individual filters? There are small, conical screens inside the top of each injector, and they could be clogged. Second, There could be some carbon build-up on the intake valves, which would act like a sponge for the fuel after initial start-up. A can of BG44K fuel system cleaner from NAPA will get rid of that. If it is neither of these, the fuel pressure regulator could be leaking. Other than this, the car would need to be diagnosed by a shop before action is taken. I hope this helps you!

Testimonial: "I ended up taking the car to a local shop for diagnosis. It turns out that the fuel pump is week and not supplying enough pressure to the motor. "

My 1997 Ford Taurus stalls when I accelerate. It only happens about 5 to 10 minutes into my drive. It starts up fine. If I am driving and the car stalls on acceleration, I can turn the car off and back...

Replace first, the fuel filter if this has not already been done. You may have a plugged filter, and these are very inexpensive. If this does not resolve the issue, locate the MAS (mass airflow sensor) located between the throttle body and the air filter housing. Start the car and let it idle normally; with a screwdriver handle or other such small tool, tap the mass airflow sensor (small black unit; will have a wiring harness hooked to the side of it); if the car dies, stalls, hesitates; first purchase MAS cleaner at the local auto parts dealer - specifically ask for Mass Airlflow Sensor Cleaner. It will should cost between 7-12 bucks - but you wont need the whole can - however, when using it: (if the car does not die, stall or hesitate and the idle stays the same, than the sensor is not bad) If it does however:
1. Remove the MAS (disconnect wiring harness) you may need to pull the top end of the air filter housing off.
2. Spray inside the sensor generously from both ends ensuring it's entirety is sprayed. Let stand for 15 minutes to airdry.
3. Re-install the sensor and start car. If there is still no improvement and the car hesistates, 1. Ensure the air filter as well is in good repair, and that there is nothing causing any air flow restriction between the airfilter and the throttle body.
4. If the airfilter is good, and there are no restrictions to air flow, consider replacing the MAS, however if you can get the car to the auto parts dealer, or to a technician (who may charge; auto parts dealers usually don't) have them run a diagnostics test on the car.
5. At this point, if cleaning the sensor has made no improvement, and the car stays idling, does not hesitate when tapping the sensor, the air filter is good, the fuel filter is good - then the next step is to replace the fuel pump.

Truck runs rough and dies out on low idle. head lights dim while driving. Starts every time with no problems. wont stay running wen idling in park. Wen engine is cold idle goes up and down until warm. new...

Sounds like a vacuum leak. You should be able to hear it at your hoses and \or connections.Around the intake manifold you can spray brake cleaner at the gaps. If the idle changes then your on to something

I have a 93 altima that will crank but will not start...about a couple months ago i went to my work and shut off my car. it was running fine when i shut it off.. when i came back out and started my car...

this year model is notorious for fuel related probs...check the remainder of the fuel system, injectors, and the fuel pressure regulator also verify that the fuel pump is actually running and getting the correct amount of power to the pump itself..... it may not be bad just not getting enough power
