It appears that your water valve is not shutting off completely, pouring water onto the ice and causing it to form into one block. the other possibility is that some heat source (a light staying on) is melting the ice surface and causing the cube to stick together.
A quick test is, listen for the Ice Maker cycle, and then check if at the end water still trickling from the fill tube. You may also check if the light is shutting off when door is closed by manually engaging the door switch and see if the light is turning off

Sounds like this is a water level problem. Too much water is being released into ice tray, which raises the water level above the depth of each cube form, causing one big cube. You can adjust the water level.

You may have a restriction in the icemaker.  Remove the icemaker and make sure that there is no ice buildup other than in the cube slots.  Also make sure that the fill tube is clear of any ice obstruction.

SOURCE: LG ICE MAKER

Be sure that the fill tube is getting into the ice maker and that the ice maker is not blocked with ice.  If everything seems ok, you may have a leaking water valve which causes it to constantly drip water into the ice maker causing the block of ice.

Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?

SOURCE: Ice Maker Freezing Up and Ice not dispensing

Check your ice cube tray to see if it is warped. Mine was. I took the tray off and dipped it into boiling water and remoulded it to the original shape and re-installed it. So far no problems. The tray gets warped because of the ice cube release mechanism. The tray is rotated around until it meets a block on one corner which creates the twisting motion we used to do on manual trays. Over time it tends to warp the tray. Good luck

SOURCE: LG ice maker only dispenses crushed ice not whole cubes

Very problematic issue with this model .Try unplugging and plugging the fridgerator which resets the board. The board is located on top under a removeable panel where the power cord enters....there is a reset/diagnostic button on the board itself.Contact LGUSA.com for any possible warranty and complain like crazy to avoid spending $300 on this board which can be purchased from andrewselectronics.com who is a factory authorized parts provider.Keeping that ice maker going will make you pull your hair out which is unfortuante for such a stylish and expensive fridge.good luck

My ice maker is spraying crushed ice instead of going straight into the cup. (The cubed ice is not as bad.) What can I do to fix it? Is there something to extend at the edge of the ice maker?

Sounds like you have an obstruction within the ice maker like ice frozen solid at the dispenser. You could try removing the ice maker and clearing out or cleaning out any stuck ice.

How do I Prevent ice dispenser from freezing up? Ice is in the ice bucket but will not disperse.

The ice stays in the cubemaker tray for a set time and then empties into the bucket. If the freezer was too warm the ice wasn't frozen enough when the cube maker emptied it and it all stuck together. Now the fridge is cold again empty the bucket, make sure there is no ice stuck in the dispenser and try again. If it is a Samsung fridge do the above and turn it off for 30 seconds and back on again. Sometimes the controller and display freezes and reads the wrong temperature.

Ice maker doesn't work

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , but doesn't fill with water , replace the water inlet valve ( the piece that the wall water line connects to on the fridge ) . Also check to be sure that the fill tube from the back of the freezer to the ice maker , isn't blocked with ice , as this is caused by a seeping bad water valve . If the ice maker doesn't dump the cubes , after freezing , then replace the ice maker . Also check to make sure the coils under the front of the refrig , are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc.

Floating bits in Whirlpool fridge-freezer crushed ice water

Ice cubes freeze from the outside, so the center of the cube is the last to freeze. Ice is pure water, only H 2 O, so as the ice cube freezes, all of the dissolved minerals are pushed to the center. Near the end of the freezing, there isn't much water left in the center of the cube, so these minerals become very concentrated, and they form the "white stuff" – the technical name is precipitate. The hardness minerals that cause the "white stuff" are not toxic.

My ice freezes together!

Do you mean the ice cubes are too large to be individual cubes and come out as a lump? The water is filled by a timed fill so if the fill solenoid stays open a little and drips water into the cube tray it will have more water than normal. I guess I'm not sure if you mean the ice cubes are stuck together in the tray or are they sticking together in the holding bin area?
